The heavy lifting has already been done on this 1964 Corvette coupe, and now this recently restored Sting Ray is looking for a new home.
With just under a day left in the auction on eBay out of the Cincinnati, Ohio area, 40 bids have failed so far to reach the reserve, after rising to a high of $57,700.
The car wears a fresh coat of its original shade of Daytona Blue paint that has been buffed to a “deep color and shine.” The body is said to be “excellent” and “straight” with “very nice fit and gaps.”
A matching factory-correct Dark Blue interior has also been restored, with nice seats, door panels, and carpet, though the seat covers appear a little loose in one of the photos.
Under the hood, the restoration continues with a period-correct rebuilt 327/365 V8 engine said to have a correct aluminum intake and Holley carburetor, and that updated powerplant is now said to be “smooth and strong running” after about 2,000 to 2,500 miles of use. It’s connected to a four-speed manual transmission with an upgraded Hurst shifter that shifts “perfect and tight.”
The side pipe exhausts, meanwhile, are said to “look and sound awesome.”
The glass, chrome, trim and emblems are good, as are the frame and underside of the car, according to the seller.
“This car is very enjoyable to cruise,” he says, calling it “a pleasure to drive” and adding it “drives out beautifully.”
