At last, someone actually drove a C6 ZR1 instead of hiding it away in a bunker somewhere.
This Victory Red 2009 model – representing the first year of production for the aptly named “King of the Hill” – shows 52,002 miles on the odometer and is currently available on craigslist through a Texas dealership for $78,995.
That sounds like a lot for a sixth-generation Corvette, but maybe not when you consider the original base price of $103,300 plus another $10,000 for the 3ZR package that includes a Bose sound system, navigation, and a leather dash wrap, and the $1,700 gas guzzler tax.
The car – one of 1,415 built in 2009 – is described as remaining in “bone stock” condition and despite the “high” mileage appears to be in mint condition, at least based on the photos with the listing.
Also included are autographs of GM executives on the underside of the carbon-fiber hood that of course features a clear, polycarbonate window to provide a view of the magnificent supercharged LS9 6.2-liter V8 engine that pumps out 638 horsepower. At the time, the ZR1 was the most powerful GM car ever produced – capable of a top speed of 205 mph, a 0 to 60 time of 3.4 seconds, and a quarter-mile run of 11.3 seconds at 131 mph.
Carbon fiber was used extensively on the ZR1, including the painted front fenders with unique side vents and the unpainted but clear coated CF parts like the fixed roof panel, roof bow, front fascia splitter, and rocker moldings.
Other features of this car are the Ebony/Gray leather interior, massive Brembo brakes with the signature blue calipers, six-speed manual transmission, aluminum frame, and Selective Magnetic Ride Control.

Fast Lane Auto Sales in San Antonio is notorious for offering over-priced, high mileage, very well-used Corvettes and Camaros…most of them are modded and beat on. They have 7 cars for sale in their entire inventory…and their business looks like an abandoned gas station. Do a Google Streets view of the place and ask yourself if you’d feel comfortable buying a car there.
