Calling all cars, be on the lookout for a unique C6 Corvette, last seen in the Bowling Green, Kentucky area!
But don’t worry, this black, red and gray 2010 Grand Sport is just helping to promote the Western Kentucky University Police Department.
Over the past few years, we’ve heard of many folks donating their Corvettes to the nearby National Corvette Museum, but Bowling Green resident Sarah Jane Zink came up with a novel twist to that concept after being approached by her friend Mitchell Walker, who happens to be WKU police chief.
“I reached out to Sarah because I knew she had a connection with Corvette and to see if there was something we could do with them to promote our police department and WKU,” Walker said.
Zink graciously offered to allow the police department to add WKUPD decals and stripes to her Corvette, which is now being used at various police department activities.

The car made its debut at the NCM Motorsports Park in late August when Zink drove it around the track as part of the park’s High Performance Driving Event.
Most recently, it appeared at WKU’s football game on Sept. 7 against rival Eastern Kentucky University.
When the car isn’t being used for such activities, the decals must be taped over for legal and safety reasons, which is no problem for Zink. “I don’t want anyone to ask for my help and I can’t help them,” she says.

Zink already had a law enforcement background thanks to her role as chaplain for the Warren County Sheriff’s Department. Helping others seems to be part of her personality as she is the president of Phoenix Rising, which aims to assist youth impacted by sex trafficking, and is a former president of Adopt a Golden Nashville and still fosters through that organization.
“I don’t have kids, so this is my way of giving back,” Zink said.

What a thoughtful and generous donation Ms. Zink!
What a waste of a nice car. No cops need a Corvette.
