If you’re looking for a new way to make your 2024 C8 Corvette stand out at a car show or just in your garage when packing for a trip, you might be interested in this new option for 2024 Corvettes just announced by Chevy.

For $1,095, you get an upgraded new suede trim panel kit for the trunk and trunk areas of your Stingray or Z06 (but not the E-Ray) to “help maintain overall durability,” according to Chevy. It also looks upscale, too, based on the photos we saw.

The “Front and Rear Trunk Sueded Microfiber Trim Panel Kit” – as RPO SXB is officially known by GM – will need to be installed at dealers and not at the factory since it’s an LPO option. We assume the kit could eventually be ordered for use in 2020-23 Corvettes, too, but we don’t know that for sure.

Available in your choice of three colors – Adrenaline Red (GM #85600044), Natural Tan (GM #85600046), and Jet Black (GM #85600043), the kit replaces the standard carpet with one under-hood storage trim panel and a trunk trim panel set with four pieces.

Also included will be a warranty set at either the balance of the car’s bumper-to-bumper warranty, or 12 months / 12,000 miles, whichever is greater.

  1. Price schedule updated September 11th shows SXB price changed to $1,995. There is also a mystery SXR option on here for $1,750 that is described as “Suede Frunk and Trunk Compartment Sidewall/floor inserts. No additional information but could be a future option for Eray since the SXB is noted Stingray and Z06.

  2. Is it me, or does this seem like a waste of $1,095? I paid $1,000 not to have the cheap-looking black trim, so my car looks sleeker and cleaner, giving it a richer look. But the trunks that no one sees seem like a waste of money and invites dirty spots in light colors.

  3. C1TOC8 I’m right there with you. This is a total waste of $1095. If I could afford a new C8 and wanted to buy one I’d much rather spend $995 or whatever it costs now to order premium color paint which is a very worthwhile option that everybody can see.

  4. After 5 years they still can’t keep the leather attached to the dash, can you imagine how quick it’s going to shrink in that hot rear trunk?

  5. This, despite interior trim paneling colors being locked behind the 3LT/3LZ paywall. I don’t care if it has to be an LPO option, I’d really love to have SCG suede interior paneling available regardless of trim level. Same with all suede steering wheel.
