This 1978 Corvette was purchased new by a woman from Dennis Brent Chevrolet located in the “Carpet Capital of the World” – Dalton, Georgia.
Now some 46 years later, after putting just 26,000 miles on her car and reportedly never taking the T-tops out, her one-owner time capsule is up for sale or trade on Facebook Marketplace, with an asking price of $20,000.
According to the listing, this Corvette Mahogany coupe still “runs and drives like a new car!” With its original 350/175 horsepower V8 engine connected to a Turbo 350 automatic transmission, this Corvette won’t blow the doors off many cars these days, but as they say, it’s still a Corvette.
The factory air still blows cold and the heater throws out hot air, and other notable features include power windows, AM/FM radio, and tilt wheel.
The leather interior, which appears to be Light Beige, remains in immaculate condition, living up to its description as “super clean.”
The 1978 model – perhaps best known for the 6,502 Indy Pace Cars built that year – marked the debut of the “fastback” bubble design with a large rear window that created much more luggage space behind the seats. The interior was also updated with a glove box added, along with a new more square, vertical design for the speedometer and tachometer in front of the driver.

Insanely clean… but put 5000 miles on it, and the value starts to drop…
That’s krazee never taking the T-tops out since new. It really does look like a time capsule from 1978.
Whopping 175 horsepower. Wow. My Kia has more.
Is the car still available
Corvettes should not be automatics and the late seventies car’s were pigs, that being said, this thing is PRETTY and reasonably priced.
