Recently, news has come out about the return of the Camaro to the Chevrolet lineup and we view this as a very positive development which has added benefits to the Corvette program as well. We’ve always viewed the Camaro as the Corvette’s brash “little brother” and believed that the Camaro program serves much like a triple-A ball club for the Corvette brand, helping to bring new owners in the fold when they are ready to “step up the big leagues.”
The seventh generation Camaro will debut as a 2028 model in 2027, built on the Alpha 2 platform with front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout. GM aims to compete aggressively with Mustang and Charger, possibly offering new trims, a manual transmission, and retro-inspired styling. Pricing will range from affordable entry-level to high-performance six-figure models.
Discussing the latest Camaro news is the ARC Driver YouTube channel. He takes us through the potential upgrades that this new Camaro will have, as well as the exciting powertrain options for the higher trims which could potentially share the LS6, LT6 and LT7 engines from the Corvette lineup.
With EVs now on the backburner and the horsepower wars heating up once again, GM has a great opportunity to revitalize the Camaro brand.

A 7th generation Camaro has been confirmed to be arriving in 2027 as a 2028 model, and while the previous generation Camaro ended up becoming something of an afterthought for GM, the news we’re getting about the upcoming muscle car is very positive.

100% chance of a manual, as F/R is the only place GM will continue to offer it.
What remains to be seen is if GM will offer 2nd gen or 3rd gen inspired styling. I’d really love a 3rd gen reimagined IROC.
