Corvette Delivery Dispatch with National Corvette Seller Mike Furman for July 21st

Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.

We are back for another Sunday Delivery Post with Mike Furman. Mike has had a plan in motion for some time now to have his friend “Zora” attend some car shows with the national Corvette Seller and you can see how that played out from the photos at the Haymarket show in Virginia which Mike and Zora attended. There are some great new C8 Corvette deliveries this week so make sure you check out the cars and the equipment ordered. ~Vette’s for Vets show is in Haymarket, Virginia tomorrow (Saturday) and my co-pilot is ready and in his Competition seat of my 2024 Corvette Z06 Convertible vin 00001. This Corvette show is for a fantastic charity so please join us if you live within a couple hundred miles. *Zora Duntov will also be attending Corvettes at Carlisle in PA August 22nd-24th. My Co- Pilot travels well and has simple needs.

~Haymarket, VA~Vette’s for Vets show. Parade of Corvettes arriving early! 7/20/24

~200+ Corvettes showed up today in Haymarket, Virginia for the annual Vette’s for Vets show. Fantastic turn out from all over the Region, some drove 5 hours to attend. Chuck Berge and the team representing The Willing Warriors always roll out the Red Carpet for all those that attend. Chuck Bell, Meteorologist for NBC4 in Wash, DC was the featured guest and he was gracious to all that greeted him. Chuck owns a 1962 Corvette and previously owned a 1963 and a 1965.

~Right hand drive. Always interesting when an “Export only” Corvette gets dropped off for the Baltimore port to whisk away out of the Country. Two Right hand drive C8 Z06’s here right now. Would be fun to test drive but I won’t. Headed to Europe.

~ZR1 video review and Ferrari comparison…from 1991! A mere $64,000 for the Chevrolet supercar.

~I have a rather extensive Corvette memorabilia collection as you can imagine and a few of the cool things are My Zora Arkus Duntov autograph and picture collection. I also have many Car magazines from the early 60’s to the mid 90’s from Zora Duntov himself. The mailing labels mainly show his Grosse Pointe, MI home address and his title under his name says “Designer For Corvettes” although we know his job was much different. The early magazines(60’s) were sent to him at the Chevrolet Engineering Center in Warren, Michigan. Over a decade ago I donated some of these magazines to the National Corvette Museum among other things and someday I hope they are to be displayed for all to see and enjoy.

The first three pictures were from an article this month in the NCRS magazine which prompted me to share some of my “Zora Duntov” collection. The Konner family even had me sign under Zora Duntov on the big Malcolm Konner sign that used to be displayed in the Malcolm Konner Chevrolet Corvette showroom in Paramus, NJ. Enjoy the look back in time as I share some of my collection.

~I spent 12 Summers with Zora Duntov at the Malcolm Konner Chevrolet Corvette shows 1978-1990 (Zora and Elfi were terrific family friends of the Konner family) and his quote to me in his heavy accent when I asked about future product was” Michael, Rumors sell magazines, not cars!”

~C8 Corvette Deliveries for the Week!

~Ed D. of Westminster, Maryland had never owned a Corvette…until this morning. Ed factory ordered from me a Torch Red 2024 Corvette coupe with Black interior. Equipment: 2LT, stealth interior trim, CF wheels with machined edge, and much more. Let the Fun begin as a new Corvette owner.

~Scott S. of Cary, Illinois factory ordered from me his new Hypersonic Gray metallic 2024 Corvette Z06/Z06 Coupe and yesterday he took delivery at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. Equipment: 2LZ, GT2 buckets, Stealth interior trim, body color accents, chrome badges, Z07 ultimate performance pkg, machined face spider wheels, and much more.

The photos are now supplied to me by Fotofx, a company that has been working within the Museum for the past 10+ years and now they have pkgs available for a truly special experience to be captured digitally.

~John B. of Raleigh, North Carolina has owned 3 other Corvettes and today he drove home #4. John and Joyce took delivery of their Red Mist-metallic Tintcoat 2024 Corvette Z06 Convertible with Natural dipped interior. Equipment: 3LZ, chrome badges, front lift, edge red calipers, and much more.

~Greg K. of Fishers, Indiana reached out to me last week looking for a Riptide Blue 2024 Corvette Z51 Convertible…we had just the right Corvette in stock and wrapped up the deal via Fed Ex back and forth. Plycar trucking will load up Greg’s very first Corvette this Monday and he will be enjoying the driving experience before not too long. Equipment: 3LT, bright machined face wheels, Z51, red engine cover, CF black top/nacelles, yellow calipers, yellow seat belts and much more!

~Gil H. of Mechanicsville, Virginia Factory ordered from me his new Red mist metallic Tintcoat 2024 Corvette Z06 Convertible with Natural interior. We completed the Fed Ex process and tomorrow Plycar trucking will load it up for the trip down Rte 95. Equipment: 2LZ, GT2 buckets, red engine intake, CF black top/Nacelles, front lift, engine appearance pkg and torch red seat belts.
