Happy National Corvette Day, folks! Back in 2008, the US House of Representatives passed a resolution declaring June 30th as National Corvette Day in honor of the Chevrolet Corvette. This week’s Delivery Dispatch has some great examples of America’s Favorite Sports Car, and from the looks of their owners, they couldn’t be happier. ~ 1992 Corvette Convt. Built July 2nd, 1992~One million of anything is quite an accomplishment. For Zora Arkus-Duntov driving the 1,000,000 Corvette off the assembly line in Bowling Green, Kentucky was more than significant; he was the Godfather of the Corvette, its inventor. Officially, he was Corvette’s Chief Engineer. If you grew up in the 1950’s and ‘ 60’s or anytime after that, he was much more. Boys, girls, men and women who one day aspired to own a Corvette covered their bedroom walls with posters of the iconic car and adults decorated their garages with his work. It was the car of the original astronauts. The Corvette wasn’t a car but a culture directing our youth to become designers, race car drivers, and car enthusiast. When I arrived Detroit in 1978 I inquired about making a picture of Zora but told he has been retired for 3 years. I finally had the opportunity on July 2, 1992, Zora, then 82, drove the 1,000,000 Corvette off the assembly line in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It featured a white exterior; a black convertible top and a red interior, just like the first production Corvette in 1953. At the end of the assembly line where the conveyor had taken the car as far as it was to go, surrounded by media, Zora turned the ignition; the One Millionth Corvette started, Zora looked up clasps his hand together and shook them back and forth. Zora maintained a presence at countless Corvette enthusiast related events until passing away in 1996. In February 12, 2014, a sinkhole opened up beneath the National Corvette Museum, in Bowling Green swallowing one of the museum’s pride possessions. ~This is must watch video of Corey and his 1953 Corvette vin 001. Currently owned by my friend Corey in Utah. This is one Corvette that couldn’t have a better owner as he is a true historian that has done years of homework on this incredibly cool piece of Chevrolet history.

~ C8 Corvette Deliveries This Week
~Will D. of Gainesville, Georgia factory ordered this Red Mist 2024 Corvette Z51 coupe with the custom R6X Black/Red interior. His specs are awesome as is his home in the background. I had the new Corvette drop shipped to his local dealership in Gainesville, GA. for a courtesy delivery. Equipment: 3LT, front lift, magnetic ride, bright red calipers, Z51 pkg and much more. Will added aftermarket wheels that look dynamite.
~Phil Y. of Buffalo Grove, Illinois factory ordered his 2nd Z06 from me, last time was an Elkhart Lake Blue C7 Z06 and today he took delivery of his Cacti Green C8 2024 Z06 Convertible with Black interior, Yellow stitching and Yellow seatbelts to go with the Yellow Calipers. Phil and I first met in Bowling Green at the Corvette Bash 10 years ago. Equipment:3LZ, stealth interior trim, Carbon ceramic brakes, black exhaust tips, microfiber seat inserts/steering wheel, satin graphite spider wheels, and much more.
~Bill M. of Tinton Falls, New Jersey had his son with him today when he took delivery of his factory ordered Sea Wolfe Gray 2024 Corvette Z06/Z07 Convertible with Adrenaline red interior. Bill has owned approximately 15 Corvettes and is really looking forward to the C8 Z06 driving experience. Equipment: 2LZ, GT2 seats, stealth interior trim, front lift, black exhaust tips, Jake C8R graphics, black spider design wheels, Carbon Aero pkg, Red seat belts and Z07 ultimate performance pkg.
~Mike T. of Ocean Ridge, Florida has quite the collection of world class sports cars and this morning he was super pumped for his new Red Mist metallic 2024 Corvette Z06/Z07 Convertible. Mike’s son drove him to Criswell and he was in and out in under an hour! ~Omid T. of Goshen, Kentucky is originally from Gaithersburg, MD. Omid took corvette museum delivery today in Bowling Green of his new Ceramic Matrix Gray 2024 Corvette Z06 coupe with R6X custom two tone Black/ Red interior. Equipment: 3LZ pkg, stealth interior trim, Carbon ceramic brakes, bright red calipers, black exhaust tips, Jake C8R graphics, satin graphite spider wheels, carbon aero pkg, red seat belts and much more.
~Melanie and John P. of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania wanted to order a 2024 1LT Riptide Corvette but 1LT was on constraint so we picked one out of stock last week and today they came down for delivery. They have owned a 2007 Corvette but they are really looking forward to driving the C8 generation! Equipment: 1LT, performance exhaust and Riptide Blue which is all they were seeking.
~Kevin H. of Mt Airy, Maryland drove off today in a new Torch Red 2024 Corvette Z06 Convt with Sky cool gray interior. I have known Kevin for 20+ years and this is the most excited that I’ve seen him and I certainly don’t blame him. This is a terrific color combo. Equipment: 3LZ, CF visible CF ground effects pkg, front lift, CF level 2 interior trim, Carbon ceramic brakes, red calipers, black exhaust tips, machine faced spider wheels, red seat belts and much more.
