[VIDEO] IndyCar Drivers Take a Lap in the Indy 500 Corvette E-Ray Pace Car

On Sunday, the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 will take place and leading the pack of 33 IndyCar drivers to the Green Flag and the start of the race is the 2024 Corvette E-Ray.

In this video from the IndyCar series, we see two Chevy drivers, Agustín Canapino and Romain Grosjean, check out the new 2024 Corvette E-Ray as well as a 2024 Corvette Stingray that is doing Festival Car duties for the month of May.

Unlike previous Pace Car videos we’ve shared from the IndyCar series, this one is a little different as each driver gets a turn in the E-Ray, while the other one drives the Red Mist Stingray Festival car. At the end of the lap, they switch cars and go once again.

Romain Grosjean gets the first crack at the E-Ray and as he accelerates away, the Frenchman says “Yes!” as the car gains speed while the sound of the E-Ray’s unique EV noise fills the cabin. You can tell he is pretty comfortable in the car as on the backstretch he begins exploring some of the switches on the E-Ray’s Great Wall of Buttons. Meanwhile, Agustín Canapino is having his own fun in the Stingray, saying “I love it!” as he drives through turn 1.

Following the driver change, Agustín Canapino in now in the E-Ray and he goes WOT as he leaves the starting line, saying “Wow…this is impressive!” At the end of his drive, he claims his only problem is that he now wants one.
