[VIDEO] C7 Corvette Runs from Arkansas State Police After Attempted Traffic Stop

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be a state trooper in a high-speed car chase, here’s your chance with this video just posted on corvsport.com.

In the video, dated Dec. 16, 2023, we see a gray C7 Corvette coupe speeding past a parked Arkansas State Police officer, who quickly gives pursuit and reaches a top speed of 100 mph to successfully catch up with the ‘Vette.

The driver seems to realize he’s in “a heap of trouble” and politely slows down to about 70 before using his turn signal to move into the right lane and then exit off the interstate. At the end of the ramp, we think the chase might be over when the Corvette again signals a right turn, but then he suddenly stomps it and roars off as the trooper struggles to keep up – even as speeds soar past 100 mph.

At the first intersection they come to, the light is red, but the Corvette manages to dodge a couple of unsuspecting SUVs passing through. The trooper keeps him in sight, but then the car goes over a hill and he loses him again, despite the patrol car reaching speeds as high as 125 mph on the straightaway.

Eventually, the Corvette is gone from his sight, and the trooper suggests looking through some of the side neighborhoods for the car.

Fortunately, in the early seconds of the chase, he managed to report an Oklahoma temporary license plate number to headquarters, so if it was a real tag, perhaps justice will still be served.

Our takeaway on this chase? We admire the bravery and skillful driving of the state troopers who put their lives on the line every day. At the same time, we hope this video might convince our fellow drivers of Corvettes (and other high-performance cars) to just pull over and pay the piper when they are in a similar situation. This video shows just how many innocent people were put in danger by this one idiot’s decision to run from the law. If you want to drive fast, go to Bowling Green and get on the track.

  1. I do not condone what the driver of this Corvette did and do I agree with running from Johnny Law. However, Johnny Law started getting pretty dangerous himself even when he eventually realized he was chasing a figment of his imagination. That Corvette driver was probably at home watching this on YouTube before Johnny Law terminated the chase.

  2. You tell’em Doug , what i saw was a cop running people off the road bc the vette was not in the pik except for pre=chase + 15 seconds and byebye

  3. This Corvette driver is a dangerous, stupid son of a bitch. The one and only good thing I have to say about him is that he drives a Corvette. That’s it.

  4. The cop was endangering as many other drivers as the Corvette. He had the temp lic. number and that should have been good enough, but no, the ego kicked in and he wanted blood. I use to respect the police, now they scare me.

  5. I do not condone what the Chevy Corvette driver did either. He endangered the public but so did the state trooper. The state trooper should have given up way before he did. He should have realized he was way outclassed (out performance). The trooper was probably in some no performance ford suv or dodge charger. I support law enforcement, but from my experience all state troopers are aholes. They all have a god complex. They think they are special because they have reached the top level of law enforcement at the state level. I had 1 that lied & said he got me on radar when he did not. I had to hire an attorney to beat the charge, So I’m glad the Corvette driver got away. I hope the cop got the plate number wrong.

  6. I think the people commenting here are not too well informed. Most law enforcement officers, especially state troopers are well trained in high speed pursuits. My daughter is a law enforcement officer and she tells me that ninety percent of the temp. tags are fake. Obliviously this guy had a reason to run, fake tag, no insurance, a gun or drugs in the car, or maybe he was a wanted felon. HE IS THE REAL DANGER TO THE PUBLIC. I stand by all law enforcement officers for the thankless job they do.

  7. That vette wasnt speeding when he passed the troopers dash cam. Z06 was next to the pick up truck for about a qtr mi. while the trooper dash was at 79mph. After the right turn @ the light thats when the vette gave him the business. Trooper was after the vette because it was a vette. If driver pulled over he wouldve probably got a warning but he instead gave the trooper what the trooper wanted, a chase.

  8. The cop should have terminated this chase immediately once he saw the vette was going 140 mph on a secondary road. It doesn’t matter how well a cop is trained for pursuit, unless there is a kidnap victim in the car, the risk to the public is way too high here. This officer was himself going 120+ mph in a 50 mph zone. Don’t tell me that’s OK for a cop but not for anyone else. What if an off-duty cop, trained in pursuit, was driving the vette? Is it OK then? Just let the idiot go. Ticketing him for his initial speeding and whatwver stupid secondary thing the vette driver was afraid of (pot? license expired?) is not at all worth the risk to the public that both the vette driver and cop were willing to incur.
