[SPIED] 2025 Corvette ZR1 On the Nurburgring with a Couple of Special Guests?

Here is some more video of the 2025 Corvette ZR1s on the Nurburgring. The Corvette Engineering team got over to the Nurburgring and started their testing last week, and we’ve been waiting to see more of the upcoming Corvette ZR1 as they were expected to be there on track this week as well.

You know who else is in Germany with the Corvette engineering team this week? Executive Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter and former Corvette Racing ace Oliver Gavin!

Oliver shared a photo of him and Tadge on Wednesday, saying “It’s always a good day when you get to drive a Z06 on track, but when the main man comes along for a lap, that’s pretty cool! Great to see Tadge.” Both Oliver and Tadge are wearing fire suits in the pic, so we have to think that the track Oliver is referring to is the Nurburgring.

Last week, our spy photographer captured a Yellow Z06 that was seen inside the Corvette Team’s secret lair, and another photographer captured the Yellow Z06 following behind the camouflaged ZR1 prototypes as they were headed to the track. However, we have yet to see any indications that the Yellow Z06 was actually on the Nordschleife.

Oliver had previously helped with the Corvette Stingray and Z06 engineering teams as they tested on the ‘Ring in Germany, and he would be a great choice as a ringer for Chevrolet in their attempt to set a timed lap. Whether or not that happens this go-around remains to be seen.

The latest sightings of the Corvette ZR1 prototypes come in this mix video that came out on Friday, and it features multiple manufacturers testing their prototype vehicles on the famous German track. In this video we see two different ZR1s being tested and they show up five times throughout the video:

• 4:40
• 6:03
• 12:01
• 14:26
• 15:01

It’s that first video clip that we get a look at the driver and see the splash of Orange on the helmet as the car goes by, spitting blue flames out the modified exhaust as the transmission changes gears.

Corvette Racing fans know that Oliver wears an orange helmet and it just so happens that we caught a driver of a ZR1 prototype wearing an orange helmet. Could it be that the European Corvette Ambassador is also providing some input with laps from the ZR1?

Tadge and Oliver Gavin in the ZR1? We think so!!

In the third clip at 14:26, we see there is a passenger in the vehicle and he is wearing the same white/blue design of fire suit that we see in Oliver’s Instagram photo. The driver also appears to be wearing an orange helmet, so we are speculating that Tadge and Ollie were indeed having some fun at the track, just not in the Z06!

The two ZR1s are now differentiated by some new reflective stickers on the rear under the right side tail lights. The first car has four of these reflective stickers while the other one has just three. Those stickers are also on the end plates for the ZR1’s huge wing spoiler.

If you skim through the video you’ll also see some other exotic sports cars testing on the track that include a Ferrari SF90XX, Rimac EV, and a Lamborghini Revuelto. Check out the video and let us know what you think!

  1. Just to be clear, Oliver wears a blue helmet…with orange trim. I think that is definitely Tadge in the car…and its certainly likely that OG was the guy pedaling.

  2. If they want to improve lap times they should install a Speedway Composites Chassis Strut X Brace. Huge difference in control, stability and responsiveness under high lateral accelerations. Improves chassis rigidity by over 8% and at the rear struts.
