Corvettes For Sale: Pair of 'Final ZR1s' Up for Grabs

Hobbyists are a funny bunch. They tend to get so deep into their passions that they start to get worked up by things that are meaningless to Joe Six-Pack – It isn’t just a Michael Jordan jersey; it’s a signed, game-worn jersey from game 4 of the 1993 NBA Finals when Da Air Man dropped a career-finals-high 55-points (while shooting just 72% from the foul line and only attempting one three-pointer – which he missed!). That same excitement over attention to detail and back stories (nerdiness, if you will) can be applied to art, stamps, coins, comic books, first edition novels, movie props, and anything collectible, really; there’s something neat about finding/owning something that stands out as extraordinary, even in a specialized crowd – The History Channel owes a lot of its modern programming to this idea! Well, around here, we love America’s Sports Car, and there are a lot of things that can distinguish an already legendary automobile from its renowned peers. We love unearthing examples with celebrity ownership history, notably low miles or just a rare exterior color, but Pennsylvania’s JFK Auto has a pair of ‘Vettes that crank the fascinating meter up to 12.

The Last C6 ZR1 Ever Made!

2013 Corvette ZR1 Coupe

2013 marked the final year of production for the C6 Corvette, and as such, it was the last time that GM’s only honoree in Hagerty’s Greatest Car of each Decade could be ordered new. Even with the excitement surrounding the first fresh generation in a decade, 482 people did just that and took home a fully-developed version of Chevrolet’s 638 HP supercharged halo car. Available today from JFK Auto is number 482! It wasn’t just the last ZR1 to roll off the line at Bowling Green, but it has only clocked 55 miles since leaving Kentucky; it has the PDE package that we talked about a few weeks ago – making it one of the 375 fastest Blue Devils ever minted, it’s wearing a one-year color that happens to be the third scarcest of all publicly available C6 ZR1 exterior colors, AND it’s the only non-white example that we know of with the signature silver/sky blue stripes of the 60th Anniversary Edition. Further rarifying things are the 1ZR equipment group and Cashmere interior, which only accounted for 10% and 2% of all ZR1s, respectively. There’s also extensive documentation and a double-signed console lid that includes former plant manager Dave Tatman’s assurance that this is, in fact, the “Last ZR1.” The crazy thing is that this unique Night Race Blue beauty is only one half of JFK’s Rick “Mr. 0001” Hendrick’s evil twin starter pack.

The Last C7 ZR1*

2019 Corvette ZR1 Convertible

*Ok, so it was technically the second to last 2019 ZR1 to leave Kentucky, but it was the final convertible built, and it was also the last one to receive the coveted 7-speed manual transmission. If reading about the C6 above made you curious, having a folding top and a clutch pedal puts this example of the final original recipe Corvette deeply in the minority. Just 29.9% of all ’19 ZR1s were ordered with a stick, and an even more shocking 17.34% got the droptop body style, but the combination of the two sinks this one into unobtanium territory with a take rate of only 4.74% (just 140 out of the total run of 2,953 C7 swan songs find themselves in the convertible/manual club!). Its classic Torch Red paint puts it in another group of just 273 (the fourth most popular hue for the one-year unicorn behind Sebring Orange (811), Black (538), and Arctic White (364)), and if narrowed down to just the ‘verts, it is one of just 39. On the downside, this one has been downright abused compared to the ’13, as it has amassed 38.75 miles per year over the last four years for an odometer reading of 155. If the pictures strike you as looking a little funny, though, worry not. This visual phenomenon is owed to the fact that this car was never fully PDI’d at its delivering dealership. Its big carbon fiber front splitter remains in its original packing tape with official GM sealing stickers still intact. Other than a quick removal for photos, its Gray (just 4% of production got one of the two Gray leather surfaces) Comp Seats are still wearing their plastic coverings as well. This C7 comes with an even more impressive array of documentation, including window stickers, build sheets, metal window stickers, metal build sheets, a photo album of the entire build process, and more! Its 755 HP isn’t the only place where this example one-ups its C6 counterpart either; under its console lid, it wears three(!) signatures! New plant honcho Kai Spande is present and accounted for, and he’s joined by Corvette engineering big-wigs Tadge Juechter and Harlan Charles. We’ll close this section with one last morsel of appeal; after taking delivery, the first and only owner of this gem treated it to an all-encompassing detail that included paint correction, full-car protective film, and ceramic coating on the wheels at a charge of nearly $9,500 – talk about a person that you want to buy from!

So, what’ll these two collector’s dream machines run you? Well, that’s a good question! Neither has a listed price, and JFK Auto is happy to keep them in its collection, but offers will be considered. All we know is, if we were a certain new-money Floridian, JFK would be on speed dial!
