[POLL] Which Corvette Model Are You Ordering in 2024?

Chevrolet opened the order banks for the 2024 Corvette Stingray and Z06 last week, and they are expected to take the first 2024 E-Ray orders starting on August 17. With the start of the new model year, we thought it would be interesting to run a reader poll to find out which model you will be ordering for the new year.

We’re going to break it down into four distinct models which are the base C8 Stingray, the Z51 Stingray, the Z06, and the E-Ray.

We’re asking anyone who has plans to place an order for a new 2024 Corvette to let us know which model they will be claiming:

  1. Hey Everybody – after winning the 1.35 Billion Dollars Mega Million later tonight, I will order from Mike Furman at Chriswell:
2024 Stingray Z51 Coupe 1LT to convert over for racing SCCA all over the place.
2024 Corvette E-Ray Convertible 3LT with all options in Red Mist / Natural Tan Dipped
2024 Camaro 2SS Convertible 6-speed manual in Amplify Orange Metallic – the last one!
the biggest Silverado Dually he can order to pull a 5th wheel race car trailer
And just to please everybody, buy something electric for driving around town, like a future Tahoe.
And if he can get a new 2024 Cadillac CT5-V series Blackwing before GM cancels gasoline engines.
Then send all vehicles to Lingenfelter in Decatur, Indiana to void all GM warranties with their Engine Enhancement Programs. Mo Power!
How’s that for the best way to spend a lottery win?
Good luck to all ordering their Corvettes.

  2. While all three offer unique experiences (investment is a totally different subject) I’m looking at it this way: probably a Stingray. Z06 just too much engine and car for someone my age and limited pocketbook; increased cost for E-Ray technology hasn’t shown me cost-effectiveness. No marked diff in fuel economy. Like the AWD but 2WD will do just fine for me. Also want to avoid gas guzzler tax. Lastly, inflation has already watered down my original build. Cutting back on options.

  3. I won’t be “ordering” any Corvette in 2024, or likely for the rest of my existence on this planet. If anything, I might buy a timecapsule C4 ZR-1 or C5 Z06. Absolutely >ZERO< interest in any enthusiast vehicle without 3 pedals.

  4. I have too many cars and I probably would have to sell most of them to pay for a new corvette,(C8 Lt2 Z51), to pay for one, and then there’s the insurance.

  5. Unfortunately the C8 Corvette has left me behind and priced me out of the new Corvette market. I’m sure I will continue to buy used Corvettes though. A real nice used low mile C7 Grand Sport would be good enough to do it for me.

  6. I bought a Red Mist convertible C8 Corvette last year, which is the 70th Anniversary edition. I’m very happy with what I purchased and having a blast every day! The price was high last year, and now it’s really out of my range at today’s prices.

  7. I ordered a 23 C8 6 months ago from my local SMALL dealership. So I had to go back and place the order again for a 2024 at an increase in price, but even worse was told it’s going to be another 6+ months. This GM allotment system is totally flawed and unfair. Why should these big sellers get all the cars.it should be territorial, I believe in trying to by local when possible. If i place an order today at my local dealer is should be built and delivered in the same time frame that if i ordered at some mega seller in New Hampshire or wherever. What a crock !!

  8. I wont be ordering anything. I feel completely pissed off and abandoned by the brand. I have had 4 Corvettes as well as BMW and Porsches, but i cant get an order for a Z06.
Customer experience management is seriously broken at Corvette. They are not selling Cavaleirs, They are selling Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche alternatives. Maybe you need separate dealerships….

  9. Was hoping to buy a C8, but with the dealers marking the cost up 20 grand or more, I am going to settle for a C7.

  10. I currently have a C7 Z06 and absolutely love it. Every time I exit the car I just have to look back and admire it. It wouldn’t work out that way for me with a C8. I just doesn’t turn me on. When I wear out my C7 I’ll buy another C7. Maybe the C9 will be a different proposition. Hopefully the end of the C8 run will end by the end of 2025 and they’ll come out with something again that looks good.

  11. Happy with my 2023 70th Anniversary Edition Carbon Flash HTC Z51 I took delivery of in April. Had a chance for a ZO6 for $75,000 over window and passed as my Z51 was at sticker with no mark up. I wanted a 70th. as it’s the last Corvette I’ll ever buy. Don’t care for the ZO6 sound as I’m a old school gear head that likes the sound of the Z51 in Sport and Track mode.,and not an Indy car ZO6 sound. That said, there’s no way I’d by an E-Ray as the sound of electric motors going whir turns me off in a Corvette body going by. But that’s just me.

  12. Go to MacMulkin. No markup, and allocations are so high, the wait is only 4-6 months.

  13. Mark, that’s exactly what torques me off. 4-6 months vice a year plus with my local dealer. Totally unfair. I’m wrestling with the idea to go with McMulkin but hate to lose my $2000 nonrefundable deposit.
