We can’t wait to hear from the die-hard Corvette enthusiasts out there about the latest news from Hollywood actor Robert Downey Jr.

Earlier this summer, the veteran actor announced to the world that he was converting several of his classic cars over to new forms of “environmentally friendly” propulsion, including – pause here for collective gasp – a 1965 Corvette Sting Ray convertible. The conversions were captured on video as part of his new MAX docu-series, Downey’s Dream Cars. Now, he’s taken things a step further, announcing this week on Instagram a contest involving those same cars.

“In case you haven’t heard yet,” he wrote on social media, “I’m giving away some of my cars.”

Besides the ’65 Sting Ray, other vehicles included in the RDJ Dream Cars Sweepstakes are a 1966 Buick Riviera, 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SE, 1972 Chevrolet K10 Pickup, 1972 VW Bus, and 1983 Chevrolet El Camino.

Sponsored by the Edward Charles Foundation, which operates charitable foundations, the contest opened June 16 and will end July 16, 2024 and is open to residents of the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.

“You can be one of the six winners, each receiving one of these beauties that we converted to drive to a pollution-free future,” the sweepstakes site says. “Enter for your chance to win one of the RDJ Dream Cars and experience the future of automotive technology.”

No purchase or donation is required to enter the contest, but if you do either, you earn more entries and thus increase your chances of winning. There will be six drawings for each of the six cars on February 2, 2024, March 29, April 22, May 26, June 30, and July 31. Entries can be made through to July 16, 2024.

  1. What a joke.
No desire whatsoever to register to win.
He should be fined or imprisoned.

  2. Maybe your heart is in the right place Robert, but you aren’t going to save the planet or anything else by converting these cars to electric power. Just the facts Jack.

  3. This guy is an ass clown. Who gives a shit, stick to movies and leave the cars alone douche bag.
