Thanks for joining us on this beautiful summer day! Mike has a nice update for us this weekend and as for new Corvette deliveries, the spotlight is shining on a Red Mist ZR1 delivered at the NCM. If that ZR1s design scheme doesn’t grab you, you’re in the wrong hobby! Mike also has a fantastic collection of throwback and vintage pics for your scrolling pleasure, and he also offers a bunch more of pics from his days at Malcolm Konner Chevrolet.

~Check out the airline tickets for Zora and Elfie Arkus-Duntov from 1990 as they flew in for Gary Konner’s birthday celebration and Corvette show. Historically speaking you would be hard pressed to find another Chevrolet dealership with the Corvette background like Malcolm Konner Chevrolet of Paramus, NJ. The Konner family sold the dealership in 1995 but from 1959-1995 they were certainly the sales leader for America’s #1 sports car, Corvette. I spent my first dozen years working for the Konner family run Auto dealership and I thank them all the time for basically taking me in and giving me a home. Yes, it was a workplace but they made me feel like part of the family as did many of the Managers. I can’t tell you how many Saturday night dinners I attended in the Bergen County area back in the day. Yes I have hundreds of pictures from the dinners as Ken Allen, the GSM was a camera buff. Anyway, enjoy the pics and a look back in time.
If you wonder how I got to 7,000 Corvette sales, (and 8,000 others) it all started with the Konner family. I thank them all the time as I’m still in touch with two of the brothers, Gary and RJ.

~Al and Claire D. of Highlands Ranch, Colorado (formerly of Texas) were referred to me by Al and Andrea Fuller many years ago after they had a less than stellar experience ( putting it mildly!) previously.

Agree about Photo #1 – good memory for somebody.
That couple’s new Red Mist Metallic ZR1 truly is a lovely looking thing. My favorite is the pic of the great looking green Corvette on the cover of the 1971 Corvette sales brochure.
Overall a great group of throwbacks!!! Hard to not like picture #1. I also like the very young looking Capt Kirk posing in a C2 & the Black C1 Conv with the Red interior & blackwall tires. Oh & say is that an elegant dressed Grace Kelly posing next to a C1???
The pics of the damaged ‘63 Grand Sport are interesting — I don’t recall seeing any such pics before.
I, too, like the new Red Mist/Natural ZR1. I ordered my ’24 Stingray Z51 coupe from Rick Conti in that same color combo. I love it. It gets attention, especially from young kids. I love talking to them about it. The young man next door (almost 10) is convinced it’s a race car!
