As a writer, it’s always nice to know that your work is being enjoyed and taken to heart once in a while. Just 19 short months after we posted a surefire way to ensure that you get a one-of-one Corvette, someone out there has obviously taken our advice! At least, that’s what we hope was going on when this, let’s say, “unique” C8 Z06 was first spec’d. To be fair, this color combo doesn’t actually clash like the C7 from the original article, but unless it’s going to some big UCLA recruit as part of a dream NIL agreement, it is an overly bold mix that is immediately flagged as needing a color combination override in the configurator!

This Accelerate Yellow over 3LZ Tension Blue “Bruin-mobile” is up for sale second-hand from Chicago Motor Cars. There’s no word if this Convertible’s warranty was protected by sitting on it for the requisite six months, but we doubt it as it is only showing seven miles. The more likely scenario is that someone involved with the major used exotic dealership ordered the car with the intent to flip it for profit. Other than the questionable blend of paint and leather, though, we’re talking about a beautifully optioned specimen! The tough-to-find Z07 track package is present and accounted for. It also has the Carbon Flash painted carbon aero kit and fiber wheels to match its mirrors, roof, and nacelles. Also bringing some well-thought-out harmony to the design is a set of highlighter yellow calipers and seatbelts woven from recycled tennis balls. Other highlights include black exhaust tips and lug nuts, Jake center caps, the Level 2 interior carbon fiber package, and front lift.

Chevrolet suggests a price of about $165,000 for a similarly optioned unit. Our inquiry into the asking price of this particular example has yet to be answered, but any flipper worth his metal (and carbon fiber and composites!) is shooting for $100,000 over sticker in today’s environment. We aren’t sure if CMC is using that particular page of the max-profit flipping playbook, but when trying to unload such a built-to-specific-taste sample, we might suggest undercutting the greediest Z hoarders out there. Houston Auto World, for instance, has somehow amassed an impressive inventory of seven C8Zs. All of them are priced between $205,000 and an eye-popping $260,000. It is going to take a special buyer to part with that much dough in either instance, but the Texans are fishing with dynamite as they are searching for those customers with a whole fleet of more traditionally optioned units – their Amplify Orange Z07 HTC almost looks good enough to justify its stratospheric sticker! Whatever CMC is asking, we want to get a feel for Corvette Nation’s consensus on this one. Money being no object, which way would you go with your high-rolling pre-enjoyed Z06 purchase, a conventional build that might end up with a twin in your Corvette Club, or something like this distinctive Yellow on Blue combo that will be the only one like it, regardless of how many ‘Vettes show up to a meet?

  3. I don’t see anything wrong with Yellow over Blue. It’s unique and I think it’s HOT! I’d have it and I wouldn’t care what anybody says about it.

  4. SMH, really people? this is god awful, yuck! I agree with Wayne, Just picture driving down the street and you see a bright yellow house with blue shutters this shade, you would take one look at it and say, “Glad i don’t live in that place”.

  5. Just needs a stainless muffler hanging under the bumper and the little doggie with the bouncing head in the back window.

  6. I had to get a color override on my C8, Accelerate Yellow with Red Interior but it was worth it. Lots of compliments on (2020) C8 and color combo.

  7. Yellow with a red interior looks pretty sharp, but not digging this blue interior with the yellow
