New Barbie Movie Sparks Increase in Internet Searches for Pink Corvettes


Original media personality Angelyne isn’t the only girl who likes driving around in pink Corvettes.

Now a forthcoming movie featuring live actors in the new flick “Barbie” seems to have ignited the world’s interest in all Corvettes pink.

And that’s not just our opinion.

The new movie starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as her love interest Ken doesn’t make its debut on the big screen until July 21, but already it’s breaking the internet … sort of.

British AutoTrader reports that car listings advertising pink C5 convertible Corvettes – Barbie’s sports car! – have garnered more than 12,000 web views in the last month, some 120% more than this time last year for the same amount of stock.

But it’s not just pink Corvettes that are drawing attention. AutoTrader says that listings of pink convertibles of all makes and models are up 93% over last year.

AutoTrader also analyzed Google search data for the past three months and found that searches for “Barbie movie car” have spiked by 450% since the official trailer for the new movie came out.

All these numbers have us wondering just how many of you Corvette enthusiasts out there will be checking on pink wraps for their own cars in the coming days?
