[VIDEO] John Heinricy Drives the Hennessey H700 Supercharged C8 Corvette Stingray

Watch as John Heinricy, 15-time SCCA national champion and retired director of GM’s performance division, takes a Hennessey H700 C8 Corvette Stingray around the Pennzoil Proving Ground at the company’s facilities in Sealy, Texas.

“Nice to get up to 140” this early in the morning, proclaim Heinricy and his passenger, Hennessey team member Alicia, after actually reaching 142 mph at one point in the new H700 supercharged upgrade for the Stingray and its 6.2-liter LT2 engine.

Heinricy, Chief Engineer for Hennessey’s Venom F5 program, and his passenger both had plenty of smiles on their faces as they recently took several laps around the test track.

No wonder, the H700 upgrade for the Stingray ups horsepower by 44 percent – from 495 to 708 – and torque by 37 percent – from 470 to 638, according to Hennessey.

Included with the H700 are a High-Flow Centrifugal Supercharger System, High-Flow Air Induction System, Air-to-Water Intercooler Upgrade, High-Flow Cat-Back Sport Exhaust System, Hennessey Calibration Upgrade, and all necessary gaskets and fluids.

Hennessey also professionally installs the system, with chassis dyno calibration and testing, road testing (up to 500 miles) and a 3 year/36,000 Mile Warranty included.

The H700 features 19-inch front and 20-inch rear Lightweight Street Wheels in Gloss Black, Matte Gun Metal, or Satin Silver, as well as Hennessey C8 Heritage Livery (Blue, White, Black, Silver, or Red), Hennessey Exterior Badging, H700 Exterior Badging, and Serial-Numbered Engine Bay Plaque.

“The stock C8 Corvette Stingray is an extraordinary sports car, yet Chevrolet left some V8 performance on the table,” John Hennessey, founder and CEO, says. “Our exciting ‘H700’ supercharger package integrates seamlessly with the 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and our exhaust upgrade sounds much more aggressive than stock. Considering that our power and torque surpass the factory Z06, the Hennessey ‘H700’ is arguably the best value high-performance supercar in the world.”

Indeed, the factory Z06’s 5.5-liter LT6 flat-plane crank V8 produces “only” 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, less than the aforementioned H700 numbers.

The H700 fits all 2020-23 Corvette Stingray coupes and is offered for international shipping. It’s available from authorized Corvette retailers, directly from Hennessey at 979-885-1300, or at HennesseyPerformance.com.

  1. I wonder what the zero to 60 is. Will this work on an E-Ray? I suppose you lose your GM warranty.
