Count the men and women who will soon be building the revolutionary new 2024 Corvette E-Ray among those impressed with the capabilities of the first-ever hybrid and all-wheel drive Corvette.

While the new supercar was being unveiled to the world at The Rink at Rockefeller Center in New York, members of the Bowling Green Assembly Plant team were also enjoying an exclusive reveal party at the Kentucky facility.

“Bowling Green Assembly builds world class vehicles, and the Corvette E-Ray is no exception,” said Andrew Keltner, General Assembly launch lead. “The sense of pride throughout this facility in delivering dreams to customers makes the hard work worth it.”

Team members were able to meet with the launch leadership team during the reveal, asking questions to find out more about the car they’ll soon be building and experience exclusive E-Ray content not accessible to the public.

The E-Ray – which includes the 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine of the Stingray but adds an electric motor for the front wheels – will be the quickest production Corvette ever, zooming from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds and capable of finishing the quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds.

Stealth mode even allows the car to run totally on electricity for a brief period after initial start-up, designed to allow drivers to leave their neighborhood quietly without disturbing neighbors.

“What I can say is that I’m very impressed with the Stealth Mode, and the E-Ray’s ability to go 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds is unreal,” said Kathy Kingston-Miller, assembly operator at Bowling Green Assembly. “It is hard to believe that a hybrid can do that, but I am very proud to be a part of this amazing car.”

She is just one of many GM workers who will play a behind-the-scenes role in making the new E-Ray.

“For every Corvette that runs down the final line in Bowling Green, there’s a huge team supporting that vehicle,” said Mike Trevorrow, vice president, North America Manufacturing. “From our design, engineering, supplier quality and supply chain teams, to our manufacturing propulsion and component plants, it takes a village to successfully launch a new product.”

The Bowling Green team sends a big shoutout to the other U.S.-based teams and facilities who supply parts and components for the Corvette E-Ray: Bowling Green PBC, Tonawanda Engine, Bay City Global Propulsion Systems, Pontiac Metal Center, Spring Hill Global Propulsion Systems, Lockport Operations, and Brownstown Battery Assembly.
