[PIC] Hot Cars Renders the 2023 Corvette SUV and it Might Be Our Favorite Yet

If you had asked longtime Corvette enthusiasts a decade ago if there would ever be a Corvette SUV, they’d have looked at you like you have a third eye in the middle of your forehead.

Fast forward to 2023, however, and we’d be inclined to believe even the most die-hard opponent of such a Corvette would say that third eye looks mighty appealing, especially in this latest rendering from Hotcars digital artist Timothy Adry Emmanuel.

With reports on the Web that GM wants to expand the Corvette lineup as soon as 2025, perhaps into its own brand, the internet has been abuzz with other versions of a Corvette SUV over the past few months, most of which haven’t been particularly appealing to this writer.

But we absolutely love, love, love this latest rendering, especially the mighty muscular look from the rear and especially those delicious off-road tires.

If you couple the awesome looks of this AWD vehicle with, say, the 6.2-liter 495-horsepower V8 and the electric motors from the upcoming E-Ray, we think Chevy would have another major hit on its hands.

Sure, we know some people are going to say it’s sacrilegious to turn the Corvette into a brand of its own, with a full lineup of vehicles like passenger sedans and SUVs, but the world is a-changin’, as they have long been singin’.

Stalwarts like Porsche, Lamborghini, and even Ferrari have already taken the plunge into a similar world, and it’s apparently helped their bottom lines tremendously – allowing their beloved sports cars to thrive in the process.

This rendering of a Corvette SUV borrows heavily from the current C8, with the taillights, rear screens, and quad exhausts out back and the pointed front end and more black grilles up front.

We’ve all seen what Chevy has been able to do with the new mid-engine Corvette, so why shouldn’t they be just as able to create out-of-this-world SUVs and sedans taking advantage of that same heritage? I don’t have any doubt in the abilities of the current engineering and design teams – do you?

  1. Well hopefully it remains a “Concept” on paper for many more years to come. Gm can’t get it’s act together as it is right now with getting these cars built. Stupid idea.

  2. Is a Corvette pickup truck next?

The Corvette is an iconic American sportscar – the Corvette nameplate has no business being anything but an American sportscar.

  3. Hey, GM: Have you noticed the “Success” of Ford’s “Mustang SUV?”
Me neither, but the declining value of my Ford stock sure does!!!

  4. The Corvette SUV as shown would be perfect for me!
    I’m original owner of C5, 2ea C6 and a C8.R.
With the snow, the bad roads of Northern Colorado, when it snows the wheel-damaging pot holes/bad road damage get covered.
So an all-wheel drive C8 SUV would work for me…and, sorry, it looks good!
It going to be built. And with the beginning of C5s/C6s, other sports cars, being set up as Rally cars the timing is right although sooner is better for me.
I wanted a Bronco Raptor but after driving one the AC is too loud and the door windows don’t seal well making wind noise…
