[VIDEO] Driver’s Bold Move at Z06 Dealer Tour Allows a Chance to Hear the LT6 V8 the Way it was Meant to be Heard

The 2023 Corvette Z06 Dealer Tour visited Stingray Chevrolet in Plant City, Florida on Friday with this beautiful Accelerate Yellow Z06/Z07 Coupe on display for everyone to see. We came in late purposely to get the load out and we were not disappointed as we got to hear the new sportscar at idle with some revs and exhaust pops thrown in for the crowd. The driver surprised all of us once the car was outside so make sure you stay until the end.

Our friends at Stingray Chevrolet are a Top 10 Corvette Dealer (6th place) that sells new Corvettes to customers at MSRP. Their current list of Z06 buyers has been halted as they wait to see what kind of allocations will be available once production starts later this summer.

We’re sure the dealership was packed earlier based on the excitement that enthusiasts have towards the new car and when we arrived at the dealership with less than an hour remaining, there were still about 50 people milling around the Vette and its displays.

As we made our way around the display it was also fun to hear some of the snippets of conversation about the new Corvette. People are still trying to decide which color or wheels will be added to their orders while others were lamenting about the lack of pricing information so they were guessing how much some of the premium options like the Z07 and carbon fiber wheels were going to cost. And then there were those who were just excited for the opportunity to sit in the new car while the dealer tour reps happily snapped photos of them in the driver’s seat.

Finally, it was 7:00 pm when the crew started their tear down and the Z06’s wrangler had to “reactivate” the Z06 on display so that it could be started up and driven out to the trailer. I positioned myself directly behind the car when the driver started it up and once again that sound of the 670-hp had everyone pulling out their cameras to capture the moment. You can hear the laughter as the group of lemmings (me included) followed the car through the dealership and out the door.

When the dealership tour was first announced for the Z06, we had heard some rumblings from dealers about not hosting it because their list size ensured they were effectively “sold out” of Z06s for the first two-to-three years of production. However, the Z06 is a magnet and watching the people coming into the dealership to see the new sports car was proof enough that the Z06 Dealer Tour is a powerful marketing event for those dealers who signed up. It also shows to customers which dealers are serious about selling the Corvette.

I selected a few photos from our time at Stingray Chevrolet and have those presented below. If you have the opportunity to visit a Z06 Dealer’s Tour, our advice is to go in a bit later as you’ll have smaller crowds to contend with while also possibly catching the Z06 as it’s moved around the dealership.
