Add another award for Chevy’s new mid-engine Corvette, this time north of the U.S. border.

J.D. Power, the global research firm, has recognized the 2022 Stingray for its strong residual values in Canada, along with four other General Motors vehicles.

J.D. Power’s ALG branch released the results of its 2022 Canada Residual Value Awards last week, and the Corvette not surprisingly was among the leaders, earning praise for its styling, bargain price, and strong performance thanks to its 495-horsepower LT2 engine and new dual-clutch transmission.

With Chevy’s Bowling Green Assembly Plant working hard and still unable to keep up with the strong demand, ALG expects prices to remain strong for the C8 Corvette in the near future.

Other GM vehicles recognized by ALG for their residual value include the Chevy Bolt EV and Silverado 2500HD, as well as the GMC Yukon and Savana.

According to the ALG press release:

Numerous variables affect the actual residual value of a vehicle over a multi-year lease term. Examples include mileage, quality/reliability, options and feature sets and macroeconomic environment. Since these factors need to be taken into account in order to accurately forecast residual values, the more granularity and greater the understanding of the effect of each variable, the better-equipped manufacturers and lenders are able to maximize profitability. The combination of J.D. Power insights and data with the deep experience of ALG in residual values allows for even more accurate end-of-lease forecasting capabilities.
