Over the course of 2021, the Chevrolet Corvette has been a mainstay on iSeeCars.com monthly Top 20 Fastest Selling Vehicles List, with the car only failing to be listed once after a long shutdown in May. This month, the Corvette moves back into the Top 10 on the Fastest-Selling New Vehicles for November 2021.

In the latest monthly report, the Corvette ranks in eighth place on the Top 20 with America’s Favorite Sports Car needing just 16.4 days on average to sell. While previous reports had the top-selling car on the list with the average days to sell in single digits, this month the top average fell to 12.7 days for the Mercedes-Benz GLE.

What we have also seen with the Corvette is that each month the Average Price appears to be higher than the previous month and that trend continues in November with the Corvette wearing an average transaction price of $96,685. In October, the average transaction price was $96,118.

Analyzing over 280,000 new and used cars sold in November 2021, iSeeCars.com found that overall, the average new car takes 42.8 days to sell and the average used car takes 51.5 days to sell. Both new and used cars are selling slower compared to last month’s averages of 31.7 days and 44.7 days, respectively.

“The average price for the fastest-selling new cars increased by 21 percent from October to November, which may have affected demand for new cars, as evidenced by the slower average time-to-sell,” said iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer. “Similarly, used cars are selling a week slower, which is likely due to price increases and reduced inventory.

“Demand for the mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette has exceeded supply since its launch for the 2020 model year,” said Brauer. “Dealers have a backlog of orders for the 2022 model, which is consistently priced above MSRP, and long waitlists have formed for the high-performance Z06 version coming for the 2023 model year.”

The Corvette wasn’t the only vehicle from General Motors to make this list this month. The GMC Sierra 1500 Limited was listed in the Number Two position with 13.8 days while the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Limited opened in the Fourth position with 15.5 average days to sell.

As previously stated, the Corvette Stingray was one of the most consistent fastest-selling new vehicles for 2021 and was one of only four vehicles to appear on the list 10 months or more. Only the Toyota Tacoma appeared in all eleven reports so far. Another notable fact is that for six out of the 10 months that the Corvette made the list, it was in the Number 1 position!

Most Consistent Fastest-Selling New Cars for 2021

The Chevrolet Corvette and the Kia Telluride join the Tacoma and the RAV4 Hybrid in second place, each making the list for 10 months. “The Corvette and Telluride are notoriously scarce in the new car marketplace, leading to excessive markups over MSRP,” said Brauer.

  1. These numbers don’t make any sense to me, why even talk about it? The context in which the number is determined is never explained.
