The Corvette Stingray has been a hit for Chevrolet as customers can’t seem to get enough of America’s Favorite Sports Car. While the car has been dominating the ISeeCars monthly sales charts for most of the year, we saw the sportscar slip to 15th on the Top 20 Fastest-Selling New Vehicles in October 2021.

In the latest report, we saw the average time to sell for the Corvette fall from 8.6 days in September to 13.9 days in the month of October which lands it at number 15 on the top 20 list. The new sales champ is the Kia Seltos which needed just 7.7 days to sell with an average price of $27,284.

Speaking of average transaction prices, the Corvette is showing its highest figure yet as its average pricing jumped from $92,366 to $96,118 in the latest survey. It’s the highest-priced vehicle currently on the Top 20 Fastest-Selling Vehicles list.

ISeeCars says they analyzed over 250,000 new and used cars sold in October 2021 with the average new car taking 31.7 days to sell and the avearage used car taking 44.7 days to sell. Both new and used cars are selling slower than they were in the previous month when the average time to sell for new cars was 24.6 days while the average for used cars was 32.8 days.

“The demand for new and used cars has slowed in October, which is likely the result of increased inventory over September and because elevated car prices may have deterred consumers from buying a car until prices stabilize,” said iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer. “Production halts and restricted inventory continue to beset the auto industry, but we did see an incremental improvement this past month.”

The Corvette has been a mainstay on the fastest-selling list for most of 2021 with the sportscar failing only once back in June from being included on the list.

“Demand for the mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette has exceeded supply since its launch for the 2020 model year,” said iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer. “While demand remains high for the Corvette, it may have slightly slowed due to the regular dealer markups and the anticipation of the high-performance Z06 version that was recently unveiled.”

It’s also worth noting that the Corvette is the only vehicle from General Motors to crack the Top 20 Fastest-Selling Cars list in October.

  1. GM is doing a great job of marketing the C8, but the dealerships are pricing new buyers out of the market with their ridiculous markups!

  2. DT : I agree 100%. If they aren’t careful, they may push people into other markets when the Z06 comes out. Talk of 100k markups has been swirling around a vehicle that will likely sticker in the 140s. Add it all up and you are in a different market!

  3. The greed will catch up with these dealers, if everyone refused to pay over MSRP the market would eventually adjust to normality.

  4. SEVERAL DEALERS HAVE SAID THEY WILL SELL THE C8 ZO6 AT MSRP, SEE THE CORVETTE FORUM,
Criswell, MacMulkin, and Ciocca Chevrolet, as well as Bomnin and Stingray Chevrolet

PEOPLE ARE SELLING THE BASE MODEL C8 TO BUY THE Z06, OR JUST WAITING FOR THE Z06 INSTEAD

  5. This one is easy to figure out why it fell. People want the Z06 and are waiting. And yes you can find good dealerships that won’t Jack up the price to be di**s about it.
