Since the unveiling at the NCM 26th Anniversary Event of the two new exterior colors for the 2021 Corvettes, Silver Flare and Red Mist, Corvette enthusiasts have been clamoring to see them on the cars. While Red Mist has been officially shown and spied several times, Silver Flare has remained out of sight.
Thanks to our friends at the National Corvette Museum, we are getting our first glimpse of the new Silver Flare on a 2021 Corvette. We’ve been hearing that a pre-production 2021 Corvette in the new color had been seen “behind the fence” at the Assembly Plant. Check out these photos courtesy of the NCM:
The NCM also offers this video of the Silver Flare 2021 Corvette:
Earlier this week, the NCM captured a Silver Flare 2021 Corvette Stingray driving around Bowling Green. These photos were originally posted to the Museum’s Instagram account with the following caption, “Pretty sure we spotted a 2021 Silver Flare #corvette in the wild today. Check out the hint of pewter in the hue. #c8 #c8corvette #carsofinstagram #bowlinggreen ? please give photo credit to @corvettemuseum on any reposts”
Silver Flare Metallic (GSJ) replaces the long-running Blade Silver and it’s a “free” color meaning there are no extra charges when ordering it. Here are some additional examples of the Silver Flare from the NCM unveiling:

Not my color. Black wheels make it worse.
Nice color! Love the black wheels and black accents!
I’m probably in the minority here, but, I’m not a fan of the HTC. Makes the rear of the car look worse and no engine in site. For me the coupe is a better look, has the targa top so it’s like a vert and you can see the engine thru the rear window like a true super car.
Ken M, I kind of agree with you. The HTC really kills the lines of the C8. The C8 is imo far superior looking than the HTC version. It’s function over form when it comes to the C8 HTC.
