Each year the NCRS Gallery assembles a stellar group of award winners to show off at Corvettes at Carlisle. The mission of the Gallery is to raise awareness about the NCRS and show examples of award winners from each of their judging categories.
The National Corvette Restorers Society currently judges 1953 – 2002 Corvettes. While widely known for judging factory correct restored and lovingly preserved cars, the NCRS recently added a Concourse division for modified cars. This was the first year to include a Concourse division winner in the NCRS Gallery.
The Gallery itself was located in their traditional ginormous white tent on the west end of the Carlisle Fairgrounds right next door to Building R. Inside were over 20 of the NCRS’ best examples. The cars sat behind ropes with hoods and doors closed. Various NCRS members and the car owners greeted visitors in addition to answering questions about the NCRS, its judging system, and its various awards. Attendees could also peruse examples of the NCRS’ many judging manuals. They also hold a raffle each year to benefit the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Fund.
The Gallery is assembled each year by the Delaware Valley Chapter of the NCRS. Owners wishing to participate can submit their cars for consideration. Then, once reviewed, 1 example from each of the NCRS’ award categories is invited to be shown in the NCRS Gallery at Carlisle. Hats off to Elaine Raisner and Frank Stech on yet another outstanding NCRS Gallery and congratulations to all of the owners who were selected to display their Corvettes. We can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store for us next year. Meanwhile check out our gallery from the 2019 NCRS Gallery below.
