Team Penske driver Ryan Briscoe averaged 226.484 mph to win the pole for this Sunday’s 96th Annual Indianapolis 500. While that time guarantees he’ll be starting at the head at the field, there are some other benefits that the Indy pole sitter enjoys like getting the opportunity to run some hot laps in the 2013 Corvette ZR1 Indianapolis 500 pace car.
Last week we told you all about the people and organizations being inducted into the 2012 Bloomington Gold Great Hall. As promised, we now present the 10 Corvettes to be included in this year’s Great Hall. The cars of the class of 2012 include the oldest production Corvette, a wildly popular styling car, and a pair of famous L88 racers.
We dropped the rumor last week that Guy Fieri is in contention to be the pace car driver at this year’s Indianapolis 500 and today we learned that its official. The celebrity chef and Corvette owner will be driving the 2013 Corvette ZR1 to start the 96th running of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 27th.

As we get closer to the release of the new 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition the anticipation is rising! Kerbeck Corvette already has a couple dozen on order and scheduled to be built between now and the end of June. In fact, some are already built and waiting to ship! All we need now is for GM to announced a release date for the 2013 Corvettes.
On Friday Afternoon at the National Corvette Museum’s 2012 Bash, Team Corvette members and enthusiasts gathered outside for an up-close look at the new 2013 427 Convertible Edition Corvettes and the new 60th Anniversary package. Leading the presentation was Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter and Product Manager Harlan Charles.
One of the highlights of the NCM Bash at the Corvette Museum is annual seminar that recaps the current production year and then showcases the changes for new model year. At the “What’s New for 2013 Corvette” Seminar presented to a standing room only crowd in the Chevrolet Theater on Saturday morning, Team Corvette Members Tadge Juechter, Harlan Charles, Kirk Bennion and Craig Sass went through their areas of expertise and then opened up the forum for questions.
