The goal is to determine the authenticity of specific claims relating to the history of a particular collector car.

Vicari Auctions will offer more than 200 classic and muscle cars at their 3rd annual New Orleans Classic Auto Festival Saturday, December 1st in New Orleans, La. A red on red fuel injected 1963 Corvette convertible pilot car will lead the Corvette brigade. The early production C2 wears serial #16 and is one of just 2 numbers matching pilot cars known to exist.
This highly documented, unrestored 1969 L88 convertible will be offered at Mecum Auctions’ Anaheim, California event this weekend. The LeMans Blue roadster is widely considered to be one of the most highly optioned and best documented L88’s known to exist. It is scheduled to cross the auction block about 1:20pm Pacific time this Saturday, November 17th.
Celebrity chef Guy Fieri is well known for his foodie show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and earlier this year we learned that he has a taste for cars as well – namely those wearing a bow-tie. Guy drove the 2012 Corvette ZR1 pace car at this year’s Indy 500 and that opportunity allowed him to get close to Corvette Team who worked with him to create his very own custom 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible.

Corvette’s Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter started off with the walk-around before turning it over to Dave Tatman, the Corvette Assembly Plant Manager. Also talking 2013 Corvettes were Harlan Charles, Corvette’s Product Marketing Manager and Kirk Bennion, Corvette’s Exterior Design Engineer. The Seminar took just a little more than 20 minutes to cover the latest and final Corvette models of the C6 era but it was well worth it and very informative to all those that were there.
As presenting sponsor of the 2012 Woodward Dream Cruise, Chevrolet celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the Corvette by showcasing a special timeline featuring milestone models of America’s Sports throughout its storied history.
The Corvette timeline was segmented by the six generations of Corvettes and the board behind the cars listed the significant developments that occurred during those years. Most of the Corvettes featured in the timeline came from the GM Heritage Center but there were also a lot of 2013 Corvettes on display as well.

He had the honor of driving the actual Corvette ZR1 pace car that was used in this year’s Indy 500 on a 1500-mile segment of the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour, a seven-day, seven-city traveling car show that went from GM’s Milford Proving Grounds to Arlington, Texas.
