Good news for European Corvette buyers! This morning, Chevrolet issued a press release announcing the pricing for the 2014 Corvette Stingray in Europe. The new seventh-generation Corvette will be available at dealerships across Europe this fall and pricing for the Coupe will start at €69,990.
It looks as if the parties in a lawsuit about the Briggs Cunningham Le Mans Corvette race car will be taking another lap around the track after a judge’s ruling this week.
The battle has already been going on for nine months after a 1960 Corvette commissioned by Briggs Cunningham for the 1960 24 Hours of Le Mans race turned up during a promotion at last year’s Corvettes at Carlisle.
For many enthusiasts, the placement of the engine is one of the defining characterists on whether or not a sports car has achieved “super car status”. The Mid Engine/Rear Engine debate surrounding Corvettes has been going on now for some 30+ years and with every new announcement surrounding a next generation Vette, we seem to have this debate all over again.
But one ingenious C4 Corvette owner decided to skip that debate and have it both ways by installing a mock 350 V8 in the rear cargo area of a 1985 yellow Coup [sic]. If you love this idea, then the good news is that this Corvette can be yours as it’s now listed for sale on Craigslist.
Mecum Auctions held their annual 2013 Spring Classic last month in Indianapolis. Over the course of the event, the Mecum team rolled 1,716 vehicles across the block. Of those, 1,156 were hammered sold for a 68% sell-through rate. We already told you about the black and blue 1967 convertible which sold for $610,000 to take top Corvette honors. A white C4 Corvette coupe has become the latest victim in a string of arsons in the Hilliard, Florida area. The Corvette is a total loss after it was set ablaze in the owner’s driveway on Wednesday night.
