[VIDEO] C8 Corvette Stingray Owner Goes for a Wild Ride on a Wet Highway

Not all accidents have to have a bad ending!

Check out the ride this driver of a C8 Corvette Stingray gets after a summer rain shower leaves the highway soaked. Not only did the driver avoid the car in front of him, he was able to stop just before crossing into the far lane just as another car passes by.

Wow, that was scary!

The video was posted by Brian Dill to Facebook, and he claims he rounded a corner and the highway went from dry to wet. He backs up the claim by showing some screenshots from the PDR just before he hit that wet downhill section. I’m thinking he was in Florida as we see this all the time, and this is what I describe when talking about wanting the Michelin All-Seasons…

The C8 mid engine likes to come to the front in the rain. I came around the corner and the road went from dry to soaked with no rain in the forecast. By watching this video you agree it’s 4% luck and 96% skill.

However, others on Facebook attributed the end-around to the 80 mph the car was traveling which was definitely a factor as well.

“80 in the rain is too fast, can’t displace the water fast enough. The Cube was handling it because it has narrow tires,” said one commentor.

“Didn’t see a corner you came around. Just you speeding in rain with tires not made for that weather😂😂😂 SAFE TRAVELS,” says another.

Brian shared the PDR screenshot showing the curve, saying “The road also went from flat to downhill and there’s a barrier in the middle that’s taller than my car. Of course, I’m human and could have done better but with 0 rain visible or forecasted I assumed the water was shade first!!

We’ll go ahead and give the kudos to his “skills” as no harm came from the incident, and that’s always a win in our book!
