A torrential rain storm in Sullivan County New York last week sent a flash flood down Cattail Creek in the area known as Livingston Manor. In addition to taking out several bridges and causing residents to scramble for higher ground, the flood waters cut a new path under the garage of Ted Baer, sending his pristine 1991 Corvette down the creek.
Corvette Accidents, Crashes and Wrecks
Nothing breaks our heart more than to see a Corvette that was involved in an accident.
A Corvette driver apparently having a seizure crashed his 1991 sports car through a concrete wall at a bicycle shop in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver, Robert Bader, 52, was the only person injured in the crash, which happened about 1:25 p.m. at Bob’s Bicycle Shop near the intersection of Eau Gallie Boulevard and Burns Boulevard.
As the track for Hurricane Leslie (now a Tropical Storm) takes it over Canada’s Newfoundland today and into the North Atlantic, we are getting updates on twitter from some of the damage that has occurred. Unfortunately, one C4 Corvette owner’s car was smashed after a large shed had taken flight and landed on his red sports car.

A red 2012 Corvette came to rest nose-first in a canal in Royal Palm Beach, Florida early Monday morning.
The two passengers in the car, which was rented from Hertz, were able to make their way out of the car and apparently suffered only minor injuries. Fortunately, a witness headed to work saw the accident and called 911 for help.
A Corvette owner and his passenger went for a wild ride earlier this week according to ABC’s 10News.com in San Diego. Witnesses say they saw the silver C5 Z06 speeding and making a “screeching noise” before the driver lost control and hit a fire hydrant before coming to rest on its roof.
Miraculously, both the driver and passenger climbed out of upside down Corvette on their own, but the accident did send the passenger to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
You don’t see too many Corvettes in New Zealand, no doubt.
You see even fewer coming out of the side of a boat.
But that’s what happened Monday when a 1984 Corvette smashed into a boat moored in the Awanui River.
It’s not often that you see a pickup truck on top of a Corvette, but that was the case last week in Northern Indiana.
A 54-year-old Ligonier, Indiana man in a red C5 Corvette was trying to pass a line of cars along State Route 9 in Noble County when he crashed into a pickup that was turning left onto County Road 850N.
Everyone dreads the thoughts of one day hitting a deer in his car.
Can you imagine if it happened in a Corvette Z06 during a race?

What took a 65-year-old Staunton, Missouri man a lifetime to collect was destroyed overnight Thursday in a fire that gutted his two garages containing three Corvettes and related memorabilia.
“This was my whole life,” an emotional John Hibbeler told stltoday.com reporter Kim Bell. “It took me 45 years to get to this position, and I lost it all in one night.”
He lost it all thanks to a small brush fire that got out of control, fire officials said.
