Last month we pored over a lot of interesting data regarding the seventh generation Corvette’s production run. We looked at total C7 production focusing mostly on color, we broke down the run of C7 Z06’s, had a post about overall Grand Sport production, and we also looked into the ZR1’s extended one-year life.

Retired GM Performance Car Design Chief Tom Peters was at California’s Art Center design school for their annual car classic and he spoke about the new 2020 Corvette Stingray. He covers different aspects of the design of the Mid-Engine Corvette and how designers differentiate the designs between various models, and he also touches on some of the challenges the team faced.
Accelerate Yellow is the 2020 Corvette Stingray’s Unicorn
Although we haven’t mentioned him much lately, everybody’s favorite Corvette_Nut is still offering interesting nuggets of C8 intel in the form of photos and videos. We’ve hypothesized previously that we believe him to be somehow related to a Corvette engineering team based on his proximity to the pre-launch C8 prototypes.

Corvettes for Sale: Would You Buy This 56,000 Mile 2019 Corvette ZR1?
Most Corvettes are driven very sparingly. A quick search of Cars.com reveals that of the 9,653 1953-2019 Corvettes currently listed for sale (with mileage listed and excluding rage-inducing duplicates from “home delivery” dealerships), 7,619 or 79% currently sit at under 40,000 miles. If we limit our search to cars with under 20k miles, a shocking 6,238 (64.6%) Corvettes are left standing.
Even when you take into account the 3,000ish listings for new Corvettes, these numbers are staggering for a car with history dating back to 1953! Looking just at the most recent model year, there are 374 used 2019 Corvettes back on dealer lots and 316 of them have odometer readings under 10,000 miles with the highest coming in at 31,041 on a Hertz 100th Anniversary Edition Z06 rental car (we are sure all of the drivers were gentle!).
Corvette Assembly Plant’s UAW Members Will Vote Wednesday on New Labor Agreement
Members of Bowling Green’s United Auto Workers Local 2164 will head to the ballot box on Wednesday to say “yes” or “no” to a new contract with General Motors.
The nearly 1,300 Corvette Assembly Plant workers are part of about 50,000 other union members at 55 locations who have been on strike against GM since Sept. 16. Whether the longest strike against GM since 1970 ends and workers start returning to the assembly line should be known by Friday.

Corvettes for Sale: 1990 Callaway ZR-1 SuperNatural
A few weeks ago, we posed a question to our community of Corvette enthusiasts about which two ‘Vettes would be parked their ultimate side-by-side garage. We then weighed in ourselves and our fearless leader, Keith had the most unique answer when he selected the “Top Gun” project, one-off 1988 Callaway Sledgehammer and its McLaren F1 thrashing 898 HP and 254.76 MPH top speed.
With all due respect to the boss, he can keep that laggy beast! This ZR-1 based CR1 SuperNatural Aerobody is the better Callaway!
Motor Trend Dynos the 2020 Corvette Stingray and Finds It Produces More Power than Advertised
During the testing of the 2020 Corvette Stingray, Motor Trend had planned to conduct a real-world fuel-economy test but that test was scuttled after their partners didn’t have the right equipment for the mid-engine sports car. So Plan B was to take the new sports car to a dyno facility to see what kind of power was actually being generated from the Corvette’s LT2 V8.
