Chevrolet’s new 6.7L LS6 V8 that powers the 2027 Stingray, Grand Sport and Grand Sport X has received its first GM service bulletin over concerns of an engine oil leak. The good news is that not every engine is afflicted with the issue and it looks to be a relatively easy fix to correct.
The GM Service Bulletin is number PIP6132 and you can view it here.
If your new LS6-powered 2027 Corvette is showing signs of an oil leak visible from underneath the car, have it inspected. The Service Bulletin notes that the oil will be observed coming from between the oil pan and the oil cooler adapter. There may also be signs of bubbling in this area when the engine is running.
The Service Bulletin included several photos that illustrate the visible oil leak:

The fix for this issue is to replace the two oil cooler adapter seals, and its not necessary to separate the oil cooler from the oil cooler adapter for access.
One that is completed, the technician then reinstalls the oil cooler adapter, and then properly runs down the four mounting bolts evenly and ensuring they are tightened in sequence.
GM doesn’t provide the amount of time estimated for the fix but based on the instructions it looks to be a pretty quick job for a competent GM certified technician.
The new LS6’s 535 horsepower and its 520 lb-ft of torque has earned it the “Torque Monster” nickname. Based on current production numbers, GM has already delivered 7,180 Corvettes for 2027 with the Gen-VI small block.
