Corvettes for Sale: 4,900-Mile 2009 Corvette ZR1 Offered on BaT Auctions

In the world of modern American performance cars, few cars have achieved the instant legend status of the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. With its supercharged LS9, carbon fiber bodywork, and 638 factory rated horsepower, forget about raising the bar – the C6 ZR1 launched it into orbit.

One of the cleanest surviving examples of that first year “Blue Devil” has now surfaced in Tennessee: a 4,900 mile, 3ZR equipped ZR1, originally delivered through the National Corvette Museum and still wearing its factory Cyber Gray paint. The car is currently offered on Bring a Trailerwith a high bid of $76,000 and four days remaining.

This ZR1’s story begins in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where it was delivered new through the National Corvette Museum. Finished in Cyber Gray over Ebony and Titanium leather, the car carries the top-of-the-line 3ZR Premium Equipment Group, adding navigation, Bose audio, heated seats, memory settings, a power adjustable steering column, and more.

The current owner purchased the car in late 2025 and added roughly 800 miles, bringing the odometer to 4,800. The car comes with its window sticker, owner’s manual, service records, and a clean Pennsylvania title.

The C6 ZR1 was the first Corvette to combine a hydro formed aluminum chassis with extensive carbon fiber bodywork, including the roof and the iconic clear polycarbonate window that reveals the LS9’s intercooler.

Under that window sits the hand built 6.2 liter supercharged LS9, still one of the most revered engines in GM history. Factory rated at 638 horsepower and 604 lb ft of torque, the LS9 uses a dry sump lubrication system and a 2.3 liter Eaton TVS blower. This example received a new drive belt, spark plugs, and ignition wires in 2021.

Power is routed through a six speed manual and a limited slip differential, with a remote valve exhaust controller added for extra personality.

The selling dealer notes that the car is equipped with a Jim Mero Vehicle Dynamics Magnetic Ride Control upgrade, using the “Touring” calibration developed by the former GM ride and handling engineer who tuned the original ZR1.

Sway bar links and rubber brake hoses were replaced in 2021, and the car rides on Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires with 2021 date codes.

A 2025 Carfax entry lists “minor to moderate damage” to the undercarriage. The seller explains that the incident occurred while he was driving the car:

@carbrz, no this retread hit happened while I was driving the car. I picked this up from a client in October 2025. Things happen. The minimal damage doesn’t take away from how clean this car is. Photos of the damage, repair, and invoice show how insignificant it actually was.

The passenger side floor pan was replaced, and photos of the damage and repair accompany the listing.

Inside, the ZR1 remains as striking as its exterior. The Ebony/Titanium leather seats show minimal wear, and the 3ZR package adds luxury touches that make the car surprisingly livable: heated seats, navigation, Bose audio, Keyless Access, push button start, and a head up display.

As with most ZR1 listings, the comments section is filled with admiration — and a healthy respect for the LS9’s ferocity.

One commenter wrote: “Not only is the ZR1 way more fun to drive, it is actually faster than the 991 T S on a roll… C6 ZR1 is the GOAT.

Another added: “Literally how I got hooked to the Corvettes and ended up buying my own in 2009. They are super fun, and the addiction is always increasing.

Even the seller chimed in with his own impressions:

I had driven a C6 Z06 like a decade ago and never so much as ridden in a C6 ZR1. It’s just downright scary at first. Once you get a little used to it, you can have a lot of fun in this car… I recently sold a C8 Stingray, and while a great car that was amazing to drive, it wasn’t terrifying (in a great way) like this is.

Another commenter summed up the ZR1’s legacy: “C6 Zr1 at 638 hp is the model for future Generations of Corvette Supercars! Started with the 2009 ‘Blue Devil’ and has continued thru the new Corvette Supercars ZR1 and ZR1X! Very desirable Corvette.

Despite its rarity and low mileage, the seller insists the car is ready for real world use: “I see no reason why this car couldn’t or shouldn’t be road tripped home by the winner. Tires have plenty of tread…

With fewer than 5,000 miles, museum delivery, documented service, and desirable options, this 2009 ZR1 represents one of the cleanest examples of GM’s first modern supercar to hit the market in recent years.
