Chevrolet has recently done another round of super-secret allocations for its flagship 2026 Corvette ZR1X and this time they have opened up ordering for the Quail Silver Limited Edition which was unveiled last summer during Monterey Car Week.
The way these ZR1X allocations are being handled and why we call them “secret” is based on the process. Dealers are getting calls direct from a specialist in Detroit telling them they have either hours or up to a day to fill one of these available ZR1X allocations. They don’t show in the regular consensus reports (allocations) and dealers are strongly encouraged not to share this on social media. However, other dealers can see them in the order system once they have been placed.
For these first Quail Silver orders, there were six dealers who were able to meet that request:
• MacMulkin Corvette – Nashua, NH
• Ciocca Corvette of Atlantic City
• Les Stanford Chevrolet – Dearborn, MI
• Don Mealey Chevrolet – Clermont, FL
• Bomnin Chevrolet Dadeland – Miami, FL
• Bomnin Chevrolet West Kendall – Miami, FL
Here is something else that we learned today about these limited edition Quail Silver ZR1Xs. They come in an exclusive matte silver paint, but the actual name appears to be called “Duntov Matte Silver Metallic (GRF)” as opposed to the Blade Silver Matte we saw in the press release. It’s the first time we’ve seen a Corvette exterior paint named after an individual.
If you ever believed like we did that the ZR1X was supposed to be called the ZORA, we might consider this to be a confirmation with an exterior paint named after the Corvette’s first chief engineer. After all, GM did trademark the ZORA name three times in the USA as well in various countries around the world.
The Quail Silver Edition Corvette ZR1Xs are only available as a 3LZ Convertible and in addition to the Duntov Matte Silver Metallic exterior, they will come optioned with the Sky Cool & Medium Ash Gray interior with Habanero accents, orange-painted brake calipers, black exhaust tips, and carbon flash painted mirrors. Each will have its unique build sequence number displayed on the interior plaque.
Pricing for the Quail Silver Limited Edition was originally listed at $241,395 but the Build and Buy configurator is still showing “See Dealer for Pricing.”

No ZR1X for thee, only for me.
They’ll sell. Even at stupid ADM. I like the spec and would consider ordering. It’s just that the MSRP is still too high for me by about 30k. Offer this car at 210k, and I’m sold.
I doubt we’ll be seeing anything like that until the C9 debuts.
