When the C8 debuted in 2020, I figured C7 prices might fall off a cliff. Dealers were practically giving away leftover 2019s at the time, and the mid-engine revolution felt like it might bury the last of the front engine Corvettes.
Six years later, the opposite has happened.
The seventh-generation cars — especially clean, well optioned Z06s — have proven remarkably resilient. In fact, they’re still commanding serious money. Case in point: this 2015 Z06 coupe listed on Craigslist out of the Gilbert, Arizona area for a hefty $80,000.
The seller claims the car has “most every option,” so many that he admits he’s not even sure of them all because “most [were] never used.” What is clear is that this one checks all the right boxes. Finished in Shark Gray and dressed in carbon fiber everywhere — roof panel, hood vent grille, side skirts, dash — it’s a striking example of the breed.
It also carries the top tier 3LZ Equipment Group, an $8,650 upgrade when new, along with the coveted Z07 Performance Package, another $7,995. With just 8,400 miles, the seller says the car “smells and looks new,” and it comes with all original paperwork, keys, and 3M film protecting that gorgeous paint.
Of course, the heart of the Z06 is its performance, and this one packs the supercharged LT4 6.2 liter V8 — 650 horsepower and 650 lb ft of torque backed by direct injection, dry sump oiling, cylinder deactivation, and continuously variable valve timing. Even better for purists, this car has the seven-speed manual transmission, a feature the C8 no longer offers.
With only 6,980 Z06 coupes built for 2015, these cars were never common, and their appeal hasn’t faded. If anything, they’re aging into modern classic territory. At the rate values are holding, today’s $80,000 asking price might look like a bargain down the road.

Looks like a JAN 17 sticker on the license plate.
It nice.
But $80,000?
Take it easy.
My son currently owns 1988 c4 coupe, I drove it for a year but my backs getting to old , we did some mods and stripped the air pump, replaced the aluminum heads with roller rockers, new injectors, stripped and cleaned throttle body and intake, put headers with free flow exhaust and runs like a different car. It’s still not the fastest but feels a lot stronger. Needs paint and suspension work.
It’s a very nice one to have for sure as long as you don’t want to run it hard on a track on a super hot day. These cars had that notorious overheating issue.
Checks all the boxes and looks great doing it. Very nice ride even at 80 grand.
