On February 5, 2026, General Motors’ flagship production facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky, pieced together 10 examples* of the automaker’s flagship supercar, the almighty 1,064-horsepower C8 Corvette ZR1. At 10 units, that random and unremarkable Thursday in February was able to outpace the entire run of Rapid Blue ZR1s from the model’s inaugural model year, which stands as the only time the ZR1’s availability overlapped with one of the C8’s signature exterior colors.
After the trick hardtop and gotta-have-it look of the nacelles led to unprecedented take-rates for the convertible in previous C8 releases, the ZR1 hit the scene with a functional split rear window harkening back to the legendary ’63 coupe. This design choice, necessitated by the LT7’s prodigious hunger for airflow, swung the pendulum of popular opinion back in favor of the coupe with a 64% share of ’25 orders.
Still, excessive growing pains limited the first-year ZR1 to a production run of just 180. This gave coupes a 115 count and left just 65 convertibles. Rapid Blue only managed to make its way onto five coupes and four convertibles before the changeover to model year 2026 left the bright Carolina blue and the original C8 interior in its wake.
Of the newly trendy coupes, only one of the five Rapid Blues was also the recipient of the coveted ZTK track package. That one-of-one wears VIN 0008 and is already looking for a second owner after doing just shy of 3,000 miles of service under YouTuber StreetSpeed717.
Maybe it’s the shallow, undeserved fame, the antics done so obviously in service of clicks, the lack of authentic enthusiasm that leads them to constantly move from car to car, the preferential treatment that allows them to jump so far to the front of the crowded ZR1 line, or some mix of those traits, but cars with ties to YouTubers often give second buyers a bad case of what the kids call “the ick,” which is probably why the selling dealership R3 Motorcars neglected to mention it in their writeup.
Run-on sentences aside, prospective buyers should in no way let the StreetSpeed association deter them from considering such a stunning and rare spec that is sure to join its predecessor in the appreciation Hall-of-Fame. On top of its already unicorn status, ZR1 #8 also features the also-discontinued dual – Twilight and Tension – blue interior, making it one of only 13 ZR1s that’ll ever be so-built. Also on the build sheet are high-end options like the Stealth and Level 2 Carbon Fiber Interior packages, Comp seats, Yellow Brake Calipers and matching seat belts, black exhaust tips and lug nuts, and the Performance Data and Video Recorder.
Simply put, it’s an absolutely striking build; quite possibly the best we’ve seen… except for the one controversial option box that was checked: the Velocity Yellow Full-Length Racing Stripe stickers that were even stuck over the lovely, exposed carbon fiber roof panel for an extra $1,195. If the means were there and this Rapid Blue beauty were bound for the CorvetteBlogger office in Colorado, there’d be a heat gun (the manly way to say “hair dryer”) pointed at those stripes, and they’d be peeled and stored for the sake of posterity before the LT7 were even allowed to turn over. This would have the added benefit of distancing ol’ number 8 from what it was for the first 2,971 miles of its existence.
Regardless of your intentions for the ‘Stang-esque stripes, what strikes your author as the most desirable 2025 ZR1 out there can be yours with R3’s signature free nationwide enclosed delivery for a pretty reasonable – considering where this market was a few months ago – $289,989. Go get her before someone else does, we’ll probably never see it hit the open market again!
*To get the 2026 total up to 906 ZR1s, 8,719 Stingrays, 4,037 Z06s, and 530 E-Rays according to C8Tracker.com.

I think what you meant to say in the heading, as well as in the body of the article, was “Corvettes for Sale: One of the Nine Rapid Blue C8 ZR1s that’ll Ever be Made Just Hit the Market”.
You’re right about the title, Doug. I’m not sure what happened there but I’ve got a note in to Keith about updating it- as I’m sure many others do.
While the body never overtly mentions the number 9, it does spell it out pretty plainly by saying Rapid only made its way onto 5 coupes and 4 convertibles then brings up the 5 coupes again further down, so the oversight was really limited to the title.
I’d have that yellow stripe off the day I got the car home, along with that hideous wing.
Street Speed runs his cars extremely hard. Ever watch him jump his C8 over the creek? I would think twice about purchasing one of his cars. Does it have a warranty? I doubt it’s been year. Go watch his YouTube videos and you will see what I am talking about.
I don’t want a ZR1 in any color. I want a ZR1X. Come on, Chevy, push the ‘produce’ button and stop acting like Porsche.
