With the Corvette Z06 GT3.R race car winning championships in North America, Europe, and Asia, it was only a matter of time that we would see the car entered in Australia’s international GT3 endurance race at Bathurst.
General Motors Australia and New Zealand just announced that Corvette Racing’s Z06 GT3.R will be entered in the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour race held February 13-15, 2026.
“It’s incredibly exciting for us to welcome the Corvette Z06 GT3.R down under,” said GM ANZ Managing Director Jess Bala.
“Corvette has played a major part in the success of our GM Specialty Vehicles brand – and there will be many passionate Corvette enthusiasts who will love to see this ultimate version of the car debut on track at Bathurst in February.”
“Bathurst is one of the most prestigious GT races in the world and it means a tremendous amount to me personally to be able to bring the program here,” said Jessica Dane, Corvette Racing Program Manager.
“The GT3 platform allows us to compete in global regions that we never have before, and I’m so excited to bring the Z06 GT3.R to our Australian and New Zealand fans for the first time at one of my all-time favorite events.”
With the 2025 racing season coming to an end, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3R has claimed the European Le Mans Series Championship with TF Sport while Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports took the GTD Pro title in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship in North America. Two Corvette Z06s will also be competing in the Asian Le Mans Series which spans six races from December 2025 to February 2026. Other series where the Corvette Z06 GT3R is having an impact is the GT World Challenge in America, Asia, and Europe, as well as the International GT Challenge which opens its series in 2026 at the Bathurst 12-Hour race.
“The Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour welcomes the addition of the Corvette GT3.R, this is something the fans have been eagerly wanting to see for a long time,” said Bathurst 12 Hour Event Director Shane Rudzis.
“To have the Corvette competing against the European manufacturers, is going to make for a highly anticipated matchup come February”.
Corvette Racing should have some additional details including the car’s livery and drivers at a later date.

Great news!
It would be cool to see the GT3.R in the Suzuka 1000km, but not 100% sure if the car would conform to either SuperGT category.
