We’ve got another race to share featuring the 2025 Corvette ZR1!

Christian Wheeler is back in his Arctic White 2025 Corvette ZR1 and this time he’s going up against the Porsche 992 Turbo S. The actual race took place a few weeks ago as part of the race date he put together with Brooks from DragTimes at Orlando Speed World. From that event, we have seen the 2025 ZR1 go up against a Lamborghini Revuelto and a Tesla Model S Plaid, and now it’s facing a very fast AWD Turbo S.

Like the two previous races, the weather conditions are simply brutal with the summer temperatures baking the cars and the track at 95 degrees. However, these races were still entertaining to watch.

The last time we featured the Porsche Turbo S was another DragTimes video featuring the Corvette E-Ray racing on a private airstrip. Now the Turbo S is up against the new King of the Hill, but despite it having just 640 horsepower as compared to the 1,064-hp ZR1, the Porsche is both lighter at 3,520 lbs and it has All Wheel Drive for hook and go launches. Like the previous matchups, this is a three-race format.

In the first race, the ZR1 was first out of the gate, but it was only after the run that we learned Christian had red-lighted the start. It was the best time yet for the ZR1 with a 9.833 @ 141.65 mph as compared to the 10.545 @ 132.05 mph for the Porsche. But with the red light, the Turbo S officially takes the first race.

The second race saw the Porsche Turbo S runs its fastest race and finishing just ahead of the ZR1 which was closing in fast. The scoresheet would show the ZR1 with a 10.173 at 138.84 mph versus the Porsche 992 which took the light with a run of 10.396 at 132.63 MPH.

Since we got a split decision so far with the two races (despite the redlight start), we’ll keep the Race 3 results to ourselves, but its definitely worth the watch. Wheeler and DragTimes each put out their own videos of these encounters and we have both of them embedded for your watching pleasure:

  1. With those conditions, they should not have raced. This is the second time the ZR1 didn’t look very good. I think the heavy guy from Florida doesn’t like Vettes and the Vette guy is getting suckered.

  2. Neither of these cars were intended for drag racing. It’s the least useful metric of a car’s performance that’s designed for fast laps.
