Our podcasting friend and my partner in crime (as he calls me) Steve Garrett has a CORVETTE TODAY Extra making its premiere on Thursday featuring an exclusive conversation with Corvette Executive Chief Engineer Tony Roma and Chevrolet Director of Marketing Amy Masica that was recorded Friday during the National Corvette Museum’s Michelin Bash event.
This is the must-watch episode where members of the Corvette Forum and the Mid-Engine Corvette Forum were able to submit questions and have them read to the Corvette Team for instant feedback. This special episode goes live at 12 midnight and you can download the audio wherever you find your podcasts. As Steve was able to host the show live with Tony and Amy at the NCM, a special YouTube video was also recorded of the entire conversation which will also be made live this tonight on the CORVETTE TODAY Channel.
The conversation was wide-ranging, but one of the tidbits that came perked our ears was about the upcoming 2025 Corvette ZR1. Like its predecessors in the C6 and the C7 years, Chevrolet recognizes that the high performance ZR1 is a “whole-lotta car,” and that drivers would benefit greatly from attending the Corvette Owner’s School to freshen up on their skills or learn some new ones that could come in handy when behind the wheel of a 1,064-hp super car. Of course, from a safely perspective, offering world class driving instruction for a Corvette capable of 233 mph is also a good idea. The best news? It’s included with your purchase of the car!

The Spring Mountain Driving School is something unique that we are able to offer for customers at a discounted rate. As we continue to roll out new models like the ZR1, you get that for free. It’s part of the program, especially when you see how fast the ZR1 can go. So it’s really also important for safety first, for making sure that customers are getting the right experience in understanding their limits, because this vehicle that Tony and the team have engineered is unlike anything that’s out there right now. It’s an opportunity for us to make sure that were doing stuff that others can’t do…don’t do. This community is so fantastic, we just want to keep offering exclusive experiences. That’s some pretty cool news that ZR1 buyers will get the ZR1 Corvette Owner’s School as part of their purchase of the car. I was just out there for the E-Ray school and can appreciate her comment about learning YOUR limits which is true no matter which Corvette you’re driving, but especially in a 9-second Corvette ZR1.
It will undoubtedly take some time for Chevrolet and the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School to get a fleet of cars together and work out the curriculum for the ZR1 class. But something tells me it would be worth the wait!

i went to the C8 class and I would love to go back. It is a hoot driving someone else’s car and pushing it as hard/much as you could stand….. i was hunting the spot where all 4 wheels slip/slightly loose grip , and i found it. lol ,,, the big guy didn’t approve lol
I went when I bought my C7 Z06. With the new ZR1, the insurance you can buy there is probably worth considering. Good times and a great bunch of very professional instructors.
I have a 2016 C7 Z51. I attended the school in 2017. I rate the Ron Fellows High Performance Driving School as a bucket list event. Don’t pass it up if you have the opportunity. You will not regret it!

I attended the school after purchasing my 2016 C7 Z51. Taught me a lot about my own and the car’s abilities. My 2022 C8 Z51 is easier to drive at the C7s limits. I was wondering if Chevrolet is still giving new C8 owners the gift model?
