A new Corvette order cycle was expected to start on Thursday, but dealers got zero allocations for the second month in a row. We don’t know if there will then be another cycle offered later this month, so it’s another wait and see.

The dealers we heard from tell us its almost unprecedented for them to skip allocations and dealer orders for two months straight. However, with the plant closed for those two weeks in March and then April’s production counts falling, it appears they are working with previously submitted orders to build cars.

While we are happy that means less dealer stock orders going in, unfortunately it also means that buyers who wanted to submit a custom order are blocked from doing so. Add to that the uncertainty surrounding the end of the 2025 model year and start up of the 2026s and usual price increases which will surely come has customers and dealers frustrated over the ordering process.

Speaking of price increases, the other piece of news to come out yesterday is that Chevrolet is raising the mandatory delivery fee for new Corvettes by $200 to $1,895. We believe this is due to using new shipping companies following the bankruptcy of Jack Cooper earlier this year, but there could be other factors as well like the reduction in the quantity of Corvettes on transports which we’ve seen drop from 10 cars to nine.

That’s that latest roundup, but should anything else come out, you know that we have it hear on CorvetteBlogger.com!

  1. Hells bells! What else is next? They should have just kept Jack Cooper and raised the price. We’d probably come out at par but with a better transport (Cooper). But then again that was extortion that Cooper was pushing. With the 2026 price increase looming and stock market turning bearish and who knows how the tariffs are going to impact Corvetts. I see sales declining in the months ahead. If stocks drop too much more, the better move will be to buy, buy, buy and make a ton of money on the rebound!

  2. YEP Jake, you do. Unless I happen to be on vacation in Bowling Green I’d pass on that deal. Plus the plant tour is not have as nice as it use to be. But the truth be known, I’m sticking with my 16 Zo6 till the wheels fall off.
