[VIDEO] 1968 Corvette Smokes a ’67 Dodge Coronet 426 Hemi at the Drag Strip

If you’re looking for a few laughs, check out the latest offering from the Cars and Zebra folks.

Not just for the narrator’s comic relief throughout the six-minute video, though.

It’s pretty funny what the results are, unless you happen to be a Mopar guy.

We won’t keep you in suspense because this 1968 Corvette literally destroys its one-owner 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T opponent. After all these decades, maybe it’s time to consider selling it. Just sayin’.

On paper, we expected a much closer outcome as the Dodge is fitted with a very manly 426/425 horsepower solid-lifter Hemi that’s since been modified even further so its current output is likely much higher. From the factory, a magazine of the era tested an example at a 14.60 @98 mph in the quarter-mile.

Meanwhile, the Corvette has an L71 427/435 tri-carb V8 but now it’s a member of the F.A.S.T. club, or Factory Appearing, Stock Tires. That means, as long as it still looks stock, anything goes under the body. In this case, we aren’t told what those mods are, but based on the results of this drag race, it’s got to be something pretty awesome.

In the drag race, the Corvette gets off to a great start and winds up running a 9.586 @ 141.73 mph, compared to the 10.974 @ 125.73 mph for the Dodge.
