Corvettes for Sale: Rare Nassau Blue 1998 Corvette Offered on Craigslist

Out of a total production run of 31,084 Corvettes back in 1998, only 777 coupes left the Bowling Green factory coated with Nassau Blue paint.

We were nice enough to do the math for you, so you wouldn’t have to get out the calculator. In short, that means just 2 percent of the coupes that year were Nassau Blue, making it nearly impossible to find examples as nice as this one currently being offered on Craigslist out of Spartanburg, South Carolina for $20,000.

The owner is apparently a person of few words, at least written words, so we aren’t told much about the car in the listing, other than that it has a black interior, C6 Grand Sport wheels, and 83,000 miles and is completely stock and garage kept.

Oh yeah, and the owner says it’s an “awesome car!!”

Based on the photos, we’d tend to agree, though we were briefly thrown for a loop when we saw a picture of the rear decklid and it looked like the paint had a major spider crack. False alarm, though – just a reflection of a crazy-looking tree limb.

Since the car is said to have not been modified, it’s safe to assume that it’s still got the original 346/345 horsepower V8 engine under the hood. And speaking of that hood, it does seem that there have been a few appearance mods there – including mirrors attached on the underside to reflect the powerplant below as well as a few miscellaneous blue parts to dress up the appearance.

We’ve always been partial to Torch Red C5s, having owned such a ’97 twice over the years (it’s a long story), but this Nassau Blue definitely is a very appealing color that stands out in a crowd. It might be a new favorite of mine. What do you think?

  1. Nassau Blue has always been a favorite of mine.
It must have sold pretty fast as the listing expired.

  2. Nice looking C5. It looks really good in Nassau Blue with the chrome C6 Grand Sport wheels.
