Once the C8 Corvette first hit the streets back in 2020, many enthusiasts were hoping that America’s Favorite Sports Car would finally start sporting some the bold and bright colors often seen on other exotics and muscle cars. One color I know we really wanted was a purple. After all, Porsche has their Ultraviolet, Viper had Stryker Purple, and even Dodge got in on the Purple fun with Plum Crazy.

Well, our wish came true with the announcement earlier this year at the NCM Bash that Hysteria Purple Metallic would be offered for the 2025 Corvette. However, seeing it on the sample displays showed it’s not really a true purple as we find it to be more of an Indigo Blue when shown in the sun. But it definitely takes on more of a purple hue when seen in the shade or indoors.

With the reveal of the 2025 Corvette ZR1, Corvette enthusiasts finally got their first look at two of the three new colors for the 2025 model year. The debut of the King of the Hill features Competition Yellow that was shown on the Coupe while the Convertible ZR1 was wearing Hysteria Purple Metallic.

Check out some of these pics to see how Hysteria Purple Metallic travels in various lighting:

  1. Nice looking dark blue, but if you want to see purple done right check out Dodge’s Plum Crazy. I love purple, and a lime green would be nice. I think one of the big Corvette after market suppliers have one in lime green wrap and it looks awesome.

  2. Not purple enough. Looks more like a blue, not far from the admiral blue C7 that I had. Hey, they can bring back the admiral anytime.

  3. I don’t see purple… I need to see it in person, digital photography can mess with color… greens turn blue, blues turn green, and something called purple looks blue. This looks like a navy blue. Not anywhere near a purple.

  4. Well first of all these pics suck, it’s a very nice BLUE but not really purple. I don’t care, I would take a Fox Pecker Pink ZR1:) I did have a C6 that was Jet Stream Blue Met tint coat, lighter than this color more silver. That was a great color which changed as the light went over it.

  5. I like it but in these pics it looks like a nice shade of dark blue with nothing really purple looking about it.

  6. Possibly the safest purple they could have done. Can’t believe there is no silver option. Would be interesting to see them bring back Super Sonic Blue.

  7. GM, this is blue. Come back when you’ve figured out purple.
Hint: Put another couple of drops of red into the mix.

  8. It’s a dark blue. GM discontinued all the monochrome options for 2025 and now there are 3 blue options. Plus a yellow with too much red in it.

Not only am I passing on this color–I am passing on buying a C8. At least until they fire whomever is doing their pantone.

  9. Looks similar to the Navarra Blue on my RS5 with a bit more purple. I think it’s obvious GM didn’t want to sell a car that looks like a pimpmobile. 🙂
