With the rollout of the 2025 Corvette ZR1, there is now an overload of videos on YouTube featuring the new King of the Hill. When it comes to YouTubers, we all have our favorites. While some like those that deliver just the facts, the truth is we prefer to watch those that also are entertaining, so we’re sharing this video from Yuri and Jakub of The Straight Pipes.
After a quick intro where Tadge reveals to the duo that the Corvette ZR1 offers 1,064 hp and 828 lb-ft of torque, there’s a coin-toss to determine who gets to ride on a top-speed run at the Milford Proving Ground with Corvette engineer Aaron Link behind the wheel. Yuri wins and he is rewarded with a top speed run of 207 MPH! According to Aaron, it was the fastest time of the day.
Afterwards, it’s back inside to walk around the two Corvette ZR1s on display and see the differences between both the Coupe and Convertible models, as well the standard ZR1 versus one equipped with the ZTK Performance Package. Again, Yuri confirms that those who go with the standard ZR1 can still get the Carbon Aero package that is part of the ZTK package.
Tadge returns to the discussion and confirms that the LT7 doesn’t have cylinder deactivation. We also learn about the trim at the front of the frunk air outlet called the Gurney. This is designed to create a negative pressure behind it which helps to increase the air flow through the outlet. We can see on the standard ZR1 that this hood Gurney lip is much lower than the one on the ZTK package. The other benefit of the larger ZTK Gurney is the increased downforce on the front. They also open the frunk so we can see the duct work involved. Another fact…there are 15 heat exchangers on the Corvette ZR1.
This was a fun review with Yuri and Jakub playing off each other as well as Tadge. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
