For the 2025 model year, Chevrolet introduced three new exterior colors for the C8. Returning is Sebring Metallic, and it will be joined by Competition Yellow and Hysteria Purple Metallic. As compared to the Black, White, and Reds that make up the top production colors, these new colors for 2025 will among the boldest on the color charts. For us, we are most excited to see an actual Purple return to America’s Favorite Sports Car, but trying to describe it to friends and family has proven to be a little more difficult.
Ever since Chevrolet first showed us the new Hysteria purple exterior color for the 2025 Corvette back at the NCM Bash in April, I’ve been trying to imagine what the color will actually look like on the car. Chevy gave us a glimpse with the painted speed shapes, but the color is wildly different depending on the lighting. In the full sun, it appears to be more of an Indigo Blue but in the shade, it goes full Grape.
As I was working on these (only average at-best renderings), I kept this graphic featuring four different views of the Hysteria speed shapes from the Bash. Each was taken by different people at different times, although it’s obvious that only the last one was taken in the full shade.
It’s that travel between the colors on the sample that’s causing me issues in trying to photoshop Hysteria onto the Corvette image. I think that on the top image, its still too purple while in this second image, that one is too blue.
Anyways, that’s what I got for now. One of my other issues that a proper Hysteria rendering would offer me is if Bright Red Calipers would work on the car. As they will be paired with a set of Wheel Craft PVD Chrome Wheels, I’m thinking I like it. Let me know your thoughts in the comments on these attempted photoshops.

Thanks for the try. I am really looking forward to seeing Hysteria in the wild. I worry that it is going to be more in the blue color range. Will have to wait and see.
Hysteria? Why can’t they just do a real purple? They want to compete with Lamborghini, Porsche, McLaren…so use real colors like they do not almost colors. Even Mazda has an outstanding “candy red” that if FAR better than Red Mist. I’m almost surprised that the last orange from C7 has been brought back…a good move…along with the replacement yellow. Do more! Don’t feel the customer is getting to much…how about more colors of stitching? Like red with natural…or are you afraid of stepping on Ferrari’s toes?
It’s Blurple Metallic.
They just killed off Edge Yellow, which would have been the most complimentary caliper color for Hystera. GM is led by colorblind morons.
Sorry, but when I look at this all I see is blue not purple. Totally agree with rtbasey.
Think color may be close to the Kia Stinger from a couple of years ago. That will look good on a new vette.
