The extensive docket consists of the usual eclectic mix of collector cars, memorabilia, antiques, and more. As we go to press, we find hundreds of consignments including nearly 150 vehicles looking for new custodians. Of those, 9 Corvettes eagerly await your bids. The available Corvettes currently represent generations 2-5, and 7 and more cars continue to be added to the ever-expanding docket.
The Fall Big Boy Toy docket is an excellent cross section of obtainable Corvettes that you can park in your garage for a reasonable sum of money. If you’re looking for a winter project, check out the lightly modded 1976 coupe. The late production, red on black 1966 convertible or the steel cities gray 1972 roadster each would make great topless cruisers. We’re also eagerly watching the listing for the 2014 Laguna Blue Stingray coupe which appears to be the VIN #002 Premiere Edition.
Here’s a few of our favorites crossing the block at Freije and Freije’s Fall Big Boy Toy auction next week in Indianapolis.
1965 Yellow / Black Convertible
1965 was an evolution year for Corvette. Most notably, 4-wheel disc brakes became standard equipment. Fuel injection was gone and replaced with the first big block in a Corvette. While the 1965 convertible offered here doesn’t include either of those options it is equipped with several of the most popular items from that year. It’s powered by a small block V8 mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Options include power steering, side exhaust, and knock off wheels wrapped in gold line tires.
1972 Orange / Black Coupe
This 1972 Stingray Coupe is finished in the classic combination of Ontario Orange over a black interior. It’s powered by a numbers matching 350 engine that’s bolted to an automatic transmission. Power steering, power brakes, and radial tires make for a great driving C3 from the last year of front and rear chrome bumpers.
1990 White / Red Coupe
Finished just like every first-year 1953 Corvette, this 1990 C4 Coupe wears white paint that’s complemented by a red interior. It features the new-for-1990 wraparound interior with analog gauges framing the digital speedometer. The standard L98 350ci engine provides power, and an automatic transmission controls the shifting. It’s loaded up with options like air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power windows, and more. The odometer shows just over 17,000 miles.
