Alright, alright, alright!

I’m channeling my inner-Matthew McConaughey this morning as we learned that Chevrolet has sent out some additional allocations for a 2nd February order cycle. Dealers received their “estimated ship” numbers on Thursday afternoon, and the order banks will open on February 29th to accept those customer-matched and dealer stock orders. We’ll also have updated Constraints next week but I don’t think they will change all that much from what we saw a week ago.

What we’ve heard is that the allocations are targeting only Stingrays for this 2nd cycle, at least that’s the only model that the dealers we spoke to received this week. Not every dealer is getting them, and we heard back from one dealer who has been completely shut out for February.

Without speculating too much, we’ve seen Stingray production numbers booming this week while Z06 production has undergone a real drop-off in production through Wednesday as the unofficial production estimates from Roger Kiel on Facebook show 20 built on Monday, zero on Tuesday and just one Z06 completed on Wednesday this week. Meanwhile, Chevrolet is building nearly 200 Stingrays per day. Yet, we do know that this 2nd order cycle was planned as Chevrolet referred to the previous February orders as Cycle 1.

For the model year, the plant just surpassed 14,057 Stingrays while 3,979 Z06s and 111 E-Rays have also been completed. That’s a total of 18,147 since September 18th when the 2024s started.

We are expecting another round of allocations to come down on March 7th and then orders will open the follow week on March 14th. Whether there will be two order cycles in March is something we’ll have to wait and see. Then things get interesting as we get closer to NCM Bash in late April and start to receive info about the 2025s. Within the next couple of months we should start receiving word of color buildouts for the 2024 model year as well as deadlines to order those colors before they go away for good.
