Today starts the February 2024 Corvette order cycle and that means it’s time to check out the latest constraints sent to dealers today from General Motors. Once again, things are looking “mucho better” for those who get to place an order for a new 2024 Corvette. These constraints only affect orders going into the system this week, and the constraint report shows the target production week for these cars is March 11-17th.

The constraints for February 2024 are mostly affecting Corvette Stingray orders as Chevrolet still has the Z51 and the base model Stingray on a controlled release with dealers receiving different percentages and numbers that they can order.

Most maddening (still) is that the Q9I Gloss Black 20-spoke wheels are also being controlled with only select dealers able to get them for their customers. According to one dealer we spoke with, the “Q9I constraint is holding up around 30 orders,” and there appears no relief in sight for the lack of these wheels. Another dealer rep also said that many customers are not budging at all and they want that specific wheel or nothing. One silver lining is that there are more Q9I wheels available this month than last (238 vs 174), so we got that going for us.

As for the Z06s and the E-Rays, they appear to have nearly all options available to customers. The Z07 with all the aero and ground effects in both visible carbon fiber and painted carbon flash are fully orderable. The only constraint for either of these models is the FA6 Level 2 Carbon Fiber Interior trim package, which is showing zero availability nationwide. Last month, the only constraint for the Z06 was the Carbon Fiber Engine Cross Brace and those are now available across the lineup.

Here are February 2024’s Corvette ordering constraints:

2024 Stingray:

• Z51 – Performance Package
• Q9I – Gloss Black Forged Wheels
• PCX – Tech Bronze Package
• 5DG – Tech Bronze Wheels
• 5ZU – Stingray Highwing in Body Color

2024 Corvette Z06

• FA6 – Level 2 Carbon Fiber Interior Trim Package

2024 Corvette E-Ray

• FA6 – Level 2 Carbon Fiber Interior Trim Package

Last week’s allocation report showed that GM was really mixing things up as all three models were allocated, but unfortunately not to all dealers at once. Some just got one model and others received a mix of Stingrays and Z06s. Two of the largest dealers did receive a small quantity of E-Rays, so we are still ramping up those numbers. Shockingly, one of the larger dealers one our call list only got Z06s and no Stingrays. So, like I said, the results were mixed!

Before we go, I want to reiterate just how good these last couple of months regarding constraints have been for Z06 buyers as it always seems like there has been something that keeps this car from reaching full production. The daily unofficial Corvette production estimate from Roger Kiel shows they are building a ton of Z06s this month with the lowest production count being 49 units built on February 6th. We counted 536 new Z06s built since February 1st through the 14th, and hopefully that trend continues now that we are seeing most options still available on these upcoming orders.

  1. The bread and butter Z51 on constraint is outrageous. Then again it will have taken me 14 months to get a KIA Sportage by the time I drive it home in March. My 2023 Z51 took 17 with Criswell. Not complaining about that. But a Korean SUV? Complaining.

  2. The FA6 – Level 2 Carbon Fiber Interior Trim Package would be a deal breaker for me on the Z06 or E-Ray.

  3. My Z06 went to 3000 status on or before 12/20. Still don’t have aTBW! Dealer says he has 8 Z06 orders not moving. I’m wondering if it has anything to do with orders being put in as dealer stock order as opposed to a specific customer order under my name -OR – they were selling Z06’s over MSRP from day one, so maybe its payback??
