Update
We received an update on these production numbers presented below so I wanted to put them here at the top. On Wednesday, production numbers reported for Monday and Tuesday were 261 and 260 for a total 521. That total is correct, but the counts are distributed over three days which included a 4-hour Saturday shift. The updated count we have now is 47 cars built on Saturday, 232 cars for Monday, and 242 Corvettes completed on Tuesday. Here is our original story:

Last week we learned that the Corvette Assembly Plant would be working 10-hour shifts for the near future, and we were expecting to see production happen over the weekend with a Saturday workday planned as confirmed by a GM rep at the plant. While we don’t see any numbers for a Saturday shift on Roger Kiel’s excellent “Unofficial Production Estimates” report, today we got the update for Monday and Tuesday’s production counts, and they are simply bonkers!

I was planning to write about Friday’s production count of 228 which eclipsed the daily production record of 225 set back in September 2023. Instead, we are sharing Monday and Tuesday’s production estimates which blew that “record” out of the water. On Monday, Roger’s report shows 194 Stingrays and 67 Z06s produced for a total of 261. Then on Tuesday, the plant knocked out another 194 Stingrays and 66 Z06s for a total of 260.

Last week the plant finished 761 Stingrays, 236 Z06s, and the 23 E-Rays for a total of 1,047 units produced in the week. Unfortunately, no E-Rays have been completed since last week’s total of 23 were reported, and so far none have been delivered to customers.

Unofficial Production Estimates Table updated with latest production counts

The total count for the 2024 Corvettes currently stands at 14,974 produced:

• 11,676 Stingrays
• 3,250 Z06s
• 48 E-Rays

Will the Corvette Assembly Plant be able to keep up with this tempo? We’ll be watching and will let you know!

  1. Dealerships here are loaded with inventory. No Erays. If you want an electric go to the Tesla dealership, they are filled up. I get emails every day with offers below MSRP on new C8s, especially cars in transit. They don’t want these on their floor plan.

  2. Yep the times are changing. When they are sitting around the discounts will increase. There’s a saturation level involved along with high interest rates and the fact they cost way more than a C7 did.

  3. My goal is 2 years from now ordering the exact car I want and am going to go to all the dealers in my area to see who will give me the best deal, I figure by then they will all have new ones sitting on their lots.

  4. I would like to know if the low numbers for Erays are due to low demand or parts shortages. I would love to get one if I can without having to pay an arm and a leg above MSRP. A local dealership with allocations told me maybe in a year or two.
