With Mecum’s Kissimmee 2024 auction now in the books, one specific Corvette model we wanted to analyze was the C8 Corvette Z06. The “race car for the streets” have been setting monster sales numbers over the course of the year and the results from the January 2024 sale may provide buyers with some insights on pricing as we move into the new year.
To give you a sense of where we were with Z06 auction pricing, here are three sales of Z06s at three different Mecum auctions last year. At last year’s January Kissimmee auction, a Torch Red 1LZ Coupe Z06 sold for $275,000. Two months later in Glendale, Mecum sold a White Pearl 70th Anniversary Convertible for $305,500! In November, a 2023 Corvette Z06 was sold for $264,000 at Mecum Las Vegas.
While sellers have become accustomed to seeing the C8Z sell for $200,000 or more, that didn’t happen at the Central Florida auction. Mecum had nine C8 Corvette Z06s consigned for Kissimmee and seven of those Corvettes were sold. The sold prices ranged from a low of $176,000 to a high of $189,750. The two Corvette Z06s that didn’t sell each had high bids of $160,000.

We always felt that having the factory warranty would eventually be one of the items that separates sold cars from those that didn’t sell, and you can see that Mecum was good about listing the status of the factory warranty with each listing. Of the nine Corvette Z06s, just three had warranties that couldn’t be transferred. Of those three, two were sold and the Bid goes on… for the 70th Anniversary Z06 that didn’t sell.
So are we seeing a reset for the prices of the C8 Corvette Z06 at auction? Possibly, but we would want to see this trend over a couple of different sales to know for sure. We’ll be watching the next Mecum Auction from Glendale, AZ which runs March 5-9 at the State Farm Stadium, and we’ll report back any Z06 prices from those at the sale.

Sad to see another case of fleecing the consumer. These are new cars not classics. Why not sell them direct to the consumer?
